I think you've hit the nail on the head. wonder if any of these will play a part in the indoor section, or if they are just for the queue line/boarding area. Having looked at their website, they have some products with very interesting effects.Tryst wrote:Robe manufacture lighting effects for the entertainment industry.JAMMYD777 wrote: There has been a large delivery of these boxes. I'm sure they're used in theatrical performances for something.

I think that they're just re-usable boxes. Those things ain't cheap, and the equipment inside will probably be incredibly delicate. Therefore require a safe method of transportation, thus the big, heavy specialised boxes.
Usually though, they would only be in boxes like those if they were temporary - so could be part of a media event / photo shoot (for the 'first' test?)
Probably wont see testing today if men are in the tunnel fitting lights. I'm just trying to scan the track for wheel marks that would indicate a test last night.
If you look at the very bottom of the batwing I think you can see something that looks like wheel score, but it may just be the sun !

Can't tell if there's already a large frame for a lighting rig already installed inside, so the's boxes could just contain the equipment to attach to the rigJayJay90 wrote: To me they look like what are used as the lightning and sound desks used at things like gigs and such. However these are normally in the containers for ease of packing away and transporting. Surely if it was going to be a fixed featured they'd have a more permanent fixture installed ??

These boxes are more then likely returnable to the manufacturer once finished with.
Im holding out for these too be used under the maintenance shed & also down the large double height wall too the left of the first drop.... In the form of DMX controlled LED backdrops :moj

Exactly - these are purpose built specialist transport cases - not something used for send a finished product to a customer. I think this is a temporary setup for a media (or similar) event.TPM2013 wrote: This is obvously whats inside the boxes ! ! ! ! http://www.robe.cz/products/category/lighting-tools/
[Bordering speculation now, so I'm going to stop here on the subject!]

Ok basically I've been on Robe website and watched their company video and because they come from Czech they have to be transported in flight cases seen at around 2:29 in the video on this page so this could mean they are permanent feature.

I get the impression that this company deal with good quality personalised lightning and lasers. Seems that we are going to get some dramatic lighting. How good would it be if they had the smiler logo light projected around the walls moving going around the station areas

You are right, they are full flight cases which will contain lighting and all sorts of controllers and cables, testing can most likely take place while most of this stuff is being fitted. The boxes are in a used state which I am almost certain means they have just been used for the delivery on site, we will most likely see them being removed in the next couple of days where they will be off back to the manufacturer (robe) in this case. This is irrelevant to the testing of the track really, just another delivery.clayj wrote: These boxes are more then likely returnable to the manufacturer once finished with.

There are reports from Roodlesnouter of ITV being on site, so could we be seeing a media night tonight, which will show some of the first test runs...! And if that is what's planned, then surely they must have already done some test runs...

So long as they don't spoil any secrets like they did with Th13teen [-Xlewis97 wrote: There are reports from Roodlesnouter of ITV being on site, so could we be seeing a media night tonight, which will show some of the first test runs...! It ruins the suprise!
Pretty confident we know the secret, seeing as it was revealed on the back of a box of Krave
As long as ITV do a better job than they did with Thirteen. That was an incredibly poor coverage and it put quite a negative spin on things.

They could well be, but that is a lot of lights for a pre show, something which will be taken down quite quickly, and even renting them doesn't come cheap, we could confirm this with a close up of one of those boxes!dustymacdexter wrote: do any of you think the lights could be for some kind of pre-show?

Yeah, the footage shot for Th13teen was incredibly poor. Let's hope they use a decent camera this timeDanny wrote: Pretty confident we know the secret, seeing as it was revealed on the back of a box of Krave
