as im sure TTF is aware there is a fellow alton fan site who do a really good live update page on big events such as season opening, summer, scarefest and halloween.
To be fair the other few fan sites have all pretty much died a death, with the exception of that one doing the live events.
Do TTF have any plans to do a similar event? I should imagine it wouldnt actually need to be as technical as theirs is, just a twitter account shared through a few members to upload pictures which could then be linked to on the forum.
Seems a natural progression for TT, every other base is covered and un-rivaled.
TT Meets: Live
I think this was trialled with the @tt_meet account back at one of the earlier meets this year, but was never carried on.
Its a case of do TT members want to constantly keep updating a website during their trip or do they want to ride the rides and socalise with their fellow TTF members.
In addition, I really dont see the point of live updates. You cannot get a feel for the event unless you are there, making the updates useless. Of course this is just my opinion and if someone doesnt mind doing it, then it wont do any harm to have it.

I mean to be fair, if anyone wants to do live twitter updates whilst they are there, there would be nothing wrong with creating a trip review/report topic and linking to your twitter account (as long as its made aware that it is not a TT official twitter feed).
I would also say that it would be rather difficult!
It won't really be live will it? There's only like 2 spots on resort that'll give you decent speed internet! :P

I recall as an absent member from North meet last year, [tag:2bacqhku]Chris[/tag:2bacqhku] was actively posting Twitter updates via @tt_meets (Or a similar name to that) but after a few hours, didn't seem to bother or simply forgot?
:P
It would be nice for active updates by TowersTimes on meets for certain events, I guess. Meet updates in general would be messy and far more informal considering the antics that happen.

It's got nothing to do with it being a difficult thing to do; personally, however, I believe that there is no need for us to provide such a service when an identical one is already successfully offered online – where would be the advantage for anyone?

I don't see the point for meets. I like the idea of doing this as a once a year thing on opening day. If the staff are willing to put the time in on the day, it'd be cool to see a new ride live blog.
I know towersnerd provide one, but that is literally the only service they provide.
It just seemed a logical step for TT to progress, the most prominent / successful Alton fan site, to pick up the only area they are missing (well apart from that new website, rumoured since 2001 lol).
I know its probably not an easy thing to organise, but just thought it might be worth suggesting.

Well maybe it can be tried? I wouldn't for one mind spending time updating Twitter/Facebook if live updates. Its not as if I don't go often enough! I still think that its something that will be difficult for the team to do. There is enough for the team to sort out on meets (anti-faff) already. I don't think they will be able to provide frequent updates.

It's only really ever been used on the 2010 north meet, and most of the followers of the TT_Meet account were the people on the meet, it was a bit pointless!
I can't speak for all the team but I guess we are all just too busy having fun to be thinking about doing site updates all day/weekend!
