At Drayton Manor the other day, stood outside G-Force, a boy said:

Not at a park but at school between two chavs sat behind me.

Chav 1: Went to Alton Towers the other day for me sisters birthday.
Chav 2: Oh god, that place is dead unsafe and dangerous after those people died on the Oblivion last year!

Chav 2: Yeah but loads of people died on the Oblivion when it crashed into the big hole.
Chav 1: Oh yeah I remember that.
Chav 2: Who'd pay that much money to get their legs caved in?
Chav 1: Init, My family paid £400 to get in and my mum wouldn"t let me go on the Rita or any other big ones after we found out its dead old and it broke down twice.
Chav 2: How old is it?
Chav 1: It said on the board it opened in 2005. They should close it down.
Chav 2: lol could you imagine if the Rita gets stuck on the dead fast bit.
Chav 1: That happened once and everyone broke their necks and nearly died.
Chav 2: Even more reason to not go. What rides did you go on?
Chav 1: The rapids and the 13. My mum wouldn't let us on any other big rides because of what happened on the Rita twice on that day.
Chav 2: Scary stuff bro.
Chav 1: I'm not mad at my mum though I'd rather not die tbh.

I ended up giving them a lecture on ride safety and statistics and the fact that Chav 1 paid £400 to get in for her and her family and used no vouchers. They carried on by swearing at me and that was the end of it ](*,) (notice the use of putting the before every ride)

Yesterday at Thorpe park on Rumba Rapids some guy asked the ride op if he could jump in and swim in the ride. That was pretty amusing.

A few days ago in the Th13teen queue line

Girl 1: "Most of this ride is made from twigs"
Girl 2: "And its haunted"
*Rita zooms past
Girl 1: "That ride is so fast, Daniel told me it goes 200mph"
Girl 2: "Yeah, my cousins friend had his neck snapped on that ride, lets not do it"
Girl 1: "OMG, apparently theres one in like Saudi Arabia that goes triple that speed"
Girl 2: "You'd probably disintegrate on that"

In Samurai queue, 5pm:

Girl 1: I've done really well today, got on all the rides except The Stealth and that was closed all day anyway.
Girl 2: I've heard that one's insane.
Girl 1: Yeah apparently it does 0-80 in 0.6 seconds.
Girl 2: Wow.

Can relate to this after today :P

When I hear that, I really think of Thirteen's drop... :lol

They're better than Thorpe's monotone safety announcements on The Swarm and Nemesis Inferno!

You're not the only one who hates those! I say we just stick with Sit Back, It's Fright Time.

Yeah I'd love a special dispatch. Like, How thirteen does it's tag line before dispatch and The smiler does the Lights and Join Us. The Smiler dispatch is my favourite. It can really make a ride more special. It definitely builds up tension. The first time I did the smiler I got even more scared when I saw it did that in the station! Maybe Nemesis could bring back it's Sit Back It's Fright Time and all the lights could go out except for red lights illuminating the cars, similar to air and galactica maybe? Just a thought!

Here's a fun thing to do at theme parks. Purposely say wildly inaccurate facts about the rides to annoy nearby enthusiasts

Walking towards the swarm: "This is the first Intamin dive coaster built in Europe in 1995."

Just remembered this one from the towers

Chav: "Guys theres a Squirtle here!"
*Followed by about 10 people with their phones (including myself) walking over to him*

And that's how I caught a Squirtle.

Girl: "Isn't this that haunted house?"
Boy: "Yea, apparently there are live actors too"

That gave me an idea...
Every minute or so I would stamp my feet and the girl screamed every time. :lol

It was either Wednesday 17th or Thursday 18th August, can't remember which as I was there both days.

I think it was my group you scared as one of my friends said that bout the actors! Haha!!

I don't know why I haven't said this yet, but when I last went to Alton Towers Resort on 24/9/16, there were several Scouts and Cubs groups on park. As we were leaving The Smiler for the Rapids, one boy pointed up to The Smiler entrance and said 'I think thats TH13TEEN!' I think they need to practice more map reading skills at their sessions...
