I'm not very happy either. I can't apply which is a little bit disapointing.
New TV Advert - All Time Greats!
I have to say that if the advert alone wins it, Thirteen is by far the best. Good job adverts aren't what we're judging! :P
I like Rita's advert, right up until the "Your new best Alton Towers ride *Clarkson pause* ever". Kills it.

I'm really liking this. It feels like the powers that be are getting back on track, somewhat. I agree that this whole thing just seems like some good fun and some great promotion for the park, without the stupid stunts.
Obviously I'm voting for Nemesis.

What I want to know is...
^Why isn't that stupendously awesome graphic (minus the text and corner bit) available in high-quality for use as a wallpaper yet? WANT!
Towers-people, if you're reading this, get on to it

I saw the advert for the first time this morning, and promptly spent my lunch time glued to the AT website watching all the vids...
I\'m contemplating thinking about thinking.
It\'s overated, just get another drink in.

Here's Air from Alton’s Twitter Page.
I'm kind of disappointed it looks the same as Rita but with Airs font. On the plus side I spot a TV screen that definitely wasn't there last week.

Reposting the pic, as hotlinking from Twitpic doesn't work...
Still not sure how much I like. Do like the phrases, though:
"Don't be a Nemesissy"
"Th13teen crawl back to your crypt"
"Down with Oblivion, vote Air to Win"
"Fly away winner"
"Air, the Face down winner"

i love this campaign, it's really one for the fans and for new visitors it shows them some of the great rides they may not be aware of. Basically just reminding people that Alton is still open for business in case they had forgotten.
The Hamiltons are quite a good choice. They are people that might be associated with Elections/Politics but also fall into that z - list celebrity section and do the circuit on panel shows and public events etc so are still well known.

I love it, apart from the fact that the TV screen (which is there...to play the advert?) entails having an ugly piece of fencing cluttering up the entrance. Maybe I'm being too fussy, but I think it stands out against the rock in an unattractive way.

If nothing else, this campaign has been a huge boost to TowersTimes and other Alton Towers archivists. The high quality adverts and other archive material and photos they have uploaded contributes significantly to our collections.

Been thinking about this again today. It's a bloody brilliant campaign when you think about it!
It's firstly great for us, the enthusiasts. We get a new fantastic advert to knock one out over. We get new archive photos and info. Original versions of the classic ads and an amazing opportunity of a lifetime to help design Sw7.
Not only that but the campaign is also very appealing to people who may not quite be enthusiasts but fans of the place who will remember all those adverts and will bring them memories back.
And it's appealing to the regular general public who are probably planning where to take the kids during the 6 weeks holidays who will now remember "oh yeah. Alton Towers. Let's go there kids!"
It's fantastic on all levels in my opinion.
About time something was done to begin to improve opinions of the place. And this certainly has for me.
Honestly whoever is responsible for this campaign should be very proud

I'm actually a bit disappointed by the advert. I wish they'd minimised the voiceover down to the last few seconds, drop the tacky font (what's wrong with the logos?) and let the original adverts do the talking.
But the on-park stuff is cool, and the promotion on the whole is great.
Honestly whoever is responsible for this campaign should be very proud
Does anyone else get the suspicion that they've finally found a replacement for Morwenna and this is their first PR Stunt? Since she left the marketing has seemed rather random. This is the first time we’ve seen something that’s been well planned out for quite some time.

It's so refreshing to see the park marketed using the best assets it has - its world class coasters - rather than ridiculous claims, ridiculous bans and ridiculous D-list celebrities. The attractions are good enough to market themselves, and I am very glad they're doing so. If people are reminded how good the coasters are, they won't be bothered about the lack of new attraction, or they'll look through the Fanta advertising, or won't mind the upselling as much.
No offence to the people who do the job, but sometimes I think marketing Alton Towers would be pretty easy. They have the best coasters in the country, in probably the best setting. There is no need for any lame stunts. There isn't even any need to mention that they're world firsts - what benefit does that even have anyway? It just draws attention to the fact that there are now probably better versions around. Just market the coasters as what they are, for example Nemesis - voted the best looping coaster in the entire world. Oblivion: held over a vertical, 180 foot drop, then released into a hole. Incredible.
The £25 offer is also very good.
