^ Can't say I've ever really looked but the AP Office is/was on the left as you enter the park.

The porta-cabin is the old 'Day Designer' Office where you could buy fast tracks etc. They also sell park tickets there. :)

As you enter the plaza area, your eye is drawn up the rising, gleaming gold supports and across the smooth, sweeping purple curves of the Corkscrew all the way across to...a portakabin. :|

Get rid.

I think it arrived when they started that silly "Celebrator's" package a few years ago.

But yeah, if you're buying an annual pass you go to any booth, pay, and then get issued a double-sized ticket which gets you through the turnstiles and in to the Annual Pass office.

Not a bad move by the park. It's good to not leave the shop empty for a prolonged period (because it would be terrible to leave something empty for a long time, wouldn't it Alton? *cough* Black Hole Tent *cough* ) and it frees up Guest Services to be guest services, not just flog stuff.

And if the Box Office keeps the cash tills ringing, it might allow the rest of the park to concentrate on being a theme park, not a revenue opportunity.

Also suggests that they intend on concerts being a pretty permanent addition to the annual calendar..

Speaking of said portakabin, that very one still has (to my knowledge) the last remaining Tussauds towers logo on it.

So, how many years do we think it will take towers to remove all the YourDay crap from each ride?

Hopefully when they get rid of the YourDay crap on the floor of the Air tunnel, there's a chance it could open the door for the Air tunnel finally being looked at.

Also that Portakabin needs to go, it's ugly as sin.

I imagine Towers will just leave all the Yourday stuff up, it will cost them money to remove it, so I can just see them leaving it until they really need to remove them for what ever reason. Hopefully they will remove some of the signage, such as the one on the station of either the rapids or flume (cant remember which), which still has the Yourday logo on it.

Wow, people are even trying to make out this is just a money grabbing venture...people are aware that this shop isn't blocking the end of Towers Street aren't they?...to go inside is totally optional, as it was for the Annual Pass office and the Sales and Info booth in Mutiny Bay. I really wouldn't say 'flogging' was the best word to use...perhaps simply 'selling'...like every other business does?

This is a fantastic idea, looks smart, fulfils an important role (to be honest I'd have no idea where to go to get fast tracks or next day tickets...and I've been a million times!) and means the death of a huge money pit! Hurrah!

It was a money grabbing venture before, which was in your face and was... ****.

Out of all "money grabbing ventures" that towers could have, I far prefer this one. Makes perfect sense.

Its about time the park got rid of this over priced crap product!

Finally a change for the good by merlin. They should overhaul their orp's and have them use
hd cameras i think so you get a much higher quality photo.

Could you imagine how much more the ORP's would hike due to the new cameras? They already cost the earth at the moment, and even know, for £6 per photo, I would expect detail.

The photos I've got from TTFers standing around with SLR cameras are always VASTLY better quality, and free! Here are a few examples:

Very sad times - just discovered their website http://www.venuesolutionsplc.com/, and noticed their accounts (up to 2008 - but mentioning what happened in 09, how they traded in 10 and how they expected to continue until 2013) http://www.venuesolutionsplc.com/images ... v_2008.pdf

Poor thing, their 08 revenue is awful! Sounds like they managed to survive 2010 and pay off creditors, then something happened this year which has screwed up revenue again (technical difficulties?) and they/towers have just decided to call it a day. Interesting.

To be fair to YourDay, Towers did give them quite a few years to get sorted, and the software just wasn't up to scratch.

No big surprise or loss to me. :)
