Just ram a £2 coin in it, whether it fits or not!
Why don't they just raise the damn ticket price? It starts turning into Ryanair with all these "extra" charges. You used to be able to borrow a towel for £1 too, now it's £2 or £3 (can't remember).
At Caribbean Weekend I plan to leave all my stuff in the room.
If ever I use the Water Park and I am not staying, looks like sharing is now the way forward.
Damn them. What's worse is that Water Park Annual Pass Holders now effectively have to pay £1 a visit. I wonder what new attractions there are? Oh...wait... there haven't been any since it opened in 2003.

I wonder if its the same lockers they've always had. If so, just put one quid in, ignore the whole put another one in, lock, and boom get it returned when it reopens?
Not a fan of this though. It reduces the chance of me going halfway through waterpark to get money out for the bar for snacks and drinks. Wonder if they thought of that before applying this charge.

Don't worry guys, I'm sure if they've doubled the price of the lockers it'll be because there's a new feature or slide they've added.

I am not a fan of the waterpark.
It should be free for hotel guests.
It should be exclusive for hotel guests.
There shouldn't be any extra charges
There should be investment in new attractions.

Why should it be just for hotel guests? Should the the park be just for hotel guests aswell?
Chris - having it just for hotel guests would be a farce as there would be no revenue stream for such a major investment.
However, the lack of investment is appalling in the waterpark. To think this is its 10th season and not one new attraction has been added.
Good point on the whole "nipping out the pool to get money for Quenchers" argument... If it's going to cost £1 a time. Whaaaaaa!?

It was designed and built to be a waterpark hotel. Not a waterpark in itself.Blaze wrote: Why should it be just for hotel guests? Should the the park be just for hotel guests aswell?
It should only be open for non-guests on certain days a week or for certain hours a day as guests should be entitled to exclusive time..oh and half generous opening hours. It is the least guests deserves after paying the hotel prices.
The size and infrastructure of Cariba Creek and its location within the hotel shows it doesn't function well as a stand alone attraction.

They should return Hotel ERT for the Water Park, as this used to run every day until 11am (?). Although hours have gradually been trimmed for the Water Park over the years.
Anyway, this new £1 charge will end up losing them revenue at Quenchers. Big time.

Charging for the lockers, well this isn't going to go down well!
It's a very good point regarding people popping back to the changing rooms to get some money to spend at Quenchers. Surely no-one is going to want to pay an extra £1 for this, and people can't take money into a water park for obvious reasons. This really hasn't been thought through.
It would have made much more sense increasing the entry price by £1 instead of this extra charge.

Never thought of it that way! I wonder whether they have different locks on them and now you have to now buy your key from the Waterpark reception then you get a £1 refund when you bring it back?Rob wrote: Charging for the lockers, well this isn't going to go down well!

Outrageous behaviour. I used to go to the water park regularly during the off-season, but now, they have lost my custom completely. They are making money at every opportunity, and it's always overcrowded and they have not added a new slide since opening. With Water World being much cheaper down the road, I might as well go there rather than spend the money on the locker. What a rip off.
Typical visit of mine to the Water Park:
Arrive
Change
Leave items in locker (now £1.00 lost)
Swim
Visit locker for wallet, get wallet, lock again (now £1.00 lost)
Purchase drink, have drink. Leave wallet again (now £1.00 lost)
Swim
Get clothes back.
TOTAL price £3.00.
I hope they have a scheme in place to avoid this....

Haha this is possibly one of the dumbest things Towers has ever done...
The lack of thought isn't even depressing, just hilarious...

It is actually completely retarded in just about every way.
This level of idiocy needs applauding.

So, what are the odds of them reading this topic, thinking "oh crap" and going back to how it was!? :P
TowersTimes should offer business consultancy services to theme parks, with a speciality area of common sense :P
Well we predicted the MAP fiasco and was rightJordan wrote: TowersTimes should offer business consultancy services to theme parks, with a speciality area of common sense :P
We predicted the Ticket increase for entry to park would breach trading standards and it did
yeah we seem to do quite well
This does seem to suggest that quenchers will suffer for lack of people willing to pay £1 to get their money.

The wording on the website says:
It's certainly easily possible to have lockers that do this.
Don't panic yet!
The 'when you have finished..' sort of suggests that you'll be able to open and close the locker until you're finished with it.Lockers are available at the Waterpark to store your valuables. You will require 2x £1 coins and £1 will be refunded when you have finished with your locker.
