More bits of track have arrived at the B&M plant:

The bottom of the lift hill there by the looks of things.

That looks like a bit of a loop.

Thanks to Screamscape. Looks very exciting indeed, hopefully the theming will be top notch too! :D

If Park Asterix of old is anything to go by, then I'm sure the theming will be fantastic! I really like the idea of the Egyptian style, but I feel if they do go ahead with this it might contrast with the Victorian-area Oxygenarirum is located in. Unless it can be rethemed to match the Egyptian area as that whole corner of the park seems a mismatch of different themes. This could also be expanded out to Transdemonium, which I could see benefiting heavily from a nice Tomb Blaster-esque Egyptian retheme, as Transdemonium i found to be extremely disappointing, especially compared to the likes of La Defile De Cesser.

Im really looking forward to seeing this, hopefully it will be heavily themed. :)

Work is on progress at Park Asterix.
It is now sure that the inverted is going to be 35m high.
The French site potionmagix.fr gives us photos from the construction site.

35m should be reasonable for a good layout, it's somewhere in the middle of the size range.

Comparison:

Alpengeist: 50m
Katun: 50m
Montu: 45m
Monster: 40m
Batmans: 32m
Nemesis Inferno: 29m
Black Mamba (drop): 27m

2012 should be an excellent year for coasters!

After the station, now the first pieces of the track are coming!
It is blue, so it is certainly the track that we saw in some pictures in november!

At this rate it'll be ready for the summer! :P

Whilst I'm really excited about this coaster and what Asterix could do theming/landscaping wise, I'm also very glad there'll be something to draw the crowds away from the mighty Zeus :)

Me too.

This is looking right up there with LC12 and PortAventura for the best newbie in Europe in 2012...

I expect the theming to be good on this as Asterix really can do it when they try hard.

Big construction update from PotionMagix. Lots of digging, holes, dirt and footers. One for the dirt geeks. :P

Wow, that the fact they're already so far into construction so early, and that hole is huge, I'm thinking we could be seeing something very special. Maybe some of the final turns will be underground, Black Mamba style. 2012 is going to be great for B&M
It\'s Big Bob, it\'s Big Bob, it\'s Big Bobs radio show.

Wow. This thing is looking frickin' massive!

Could this be the best new coaster in Europe 2012? Or will LC12 or PortAventura beat it?
