Getting loads of force close messages appearing, but it doesnt actually force close the app. It just closes TTF and then re-connects. Is this a Tapatalk 1.7.4 issue or something on TTF?

Dave, even though I'm posting over a month after the issue, is it fixed now? I think they've updated their app..

Anyway just wanted to say, anyone with a Blackberry can get a beta of Tapatalk from their website. Just thought I'd let you know incase...

Iv got the BETA one for Blackberry. And i must say:

Its so bad. The interface is poor, its forever opening the app itself and drains the battery. :|

MEH!

iPhone and Android versions are alot better than the Blackberry version, theres a reason the BB one is free!

Yeah it is, mine is showing posts as being in 2010. Must be an app issue.

Another seperate Tapatalk complaint.

I have the basic version, just the free reader version on Android.

I used to be able to access TTF fine on it and log in fine but in the last few days it's told me off for not entering a CAPATCHA (of which there isn't one).

I've been getting that a lot as well on the iPhone. Only way to solve it is to visit the forum in the phone's browser, log in (completing the captcha), and then you can log in again in Tapatalk. It's bloody annoying, and happening every other day or so...
Craig

Nothing that we can really do to stop that I'm afraid. The forum stops multiple attempts at logging in by adding a captcha code after 5 incorrect attempts. It should kick up an error advising that the maximum number of login attempts has been exceeded.

If it's the case that this is being shown then it's just something you'll have to cope with. It seems possible that either a bot or someone is trying to access accounts in recent days and subsequently blocking them. Obviously to lift the security feature would be a bit daft when it causes but a minor inconvenience with tapatalk not being compatible with the Captcha code :). Just gonna have to live with it I'm afraid!

Hmm. Well, I realise that the problem's not at TTF's end, and I don't think anyone was asking for the captcha to be removed, but the point is that this has only started happening very recently (and I know that TTF have had the captcha system for ages). Also, this problem's only happening on Tapatalk - I haven't had to re-login to my account on my computer for months, literally.

The question's not "why does the captcha not work in Tapatalk?", but "why am I suddenly being regularly asked for a captcha?", or more precisely, "why is my account being regularly captcha-blocked?". Very strange. Do the team know of any repeated attempts at access (like you say, perhaps a bot or similar)?

Unfortunately, "Just gonna have to live with it I'm afraid!" means stop using Tapatalk, as it's kinda a show-stopping bug :|. I'll get in touch with Tapatalk and report it, I suppose...
Craig

It's not something that's only happening on tapatalk I'm afraid, as I tried logging into the forum on my Mac last night after returning from London and got the CAPTCHA code. I haven't used tapatalk since about the 30th December and had logged into the forum on the standard site fine after that.

The most likely explanation for it is some sort of automated script/bot attempting to access accounts by guessing passwords at present, with 5 incorrect attempts kicking CAPTCHA into play, so not really something that needs to be reported to tapatalk at present.

We're looking into it by way of running through logs etc, but in the meantime just use best practice with passwords (the usual upper/lowercase combinations, not easy to guess etc) and just pop onto the standard forum to revalidate you're account if/when this occurs on tapatalk or indeed on the standard forum. We'll post back with any updates :).

Following on from this and another topic, it seems like various accounts might have come under attack. It does seem by the sounds of it though that the forum security has actually held firm and prevented unauthorised access, although I will let the team build on that as they will obviously know more. As already mentioned, I think its best that people who know they have a poor password, go and change it. I have just changed mine as I've had it for some time know. Obviously its up to you if you want to change it, but making sure your account password is secure is up to you, the site can only offer basic security to prevent these attacks. Passwords can be changed in the user control panel (profile link in top right of this page), then click profile on the left, then account settings.

:sus: In the mean time just keep an eye out for changes to your account and let the TT team know if something happens.

It seems with the latest version of the iPhone app, the "All Recent Posts" tab won't load and causes a crash. Joel, would you be able to update the Tapatalk Plugin on the forum, if it's not already updated? I've deleted and reinstalled and am still having the same problem. :?

Seems to work ok for me, though quite a lot of the posts just show up blank or incomplete.

Working fine here, with no blank posts/problems at all. That's with the most recent Tapatalk version installed...
Jordan

Hmm, it seems to work fine when I add Valley Mania... i've deleted and re-added TTF several times, and each time it just crashes on the All posts screen. :(

The latest update of Tapatalk seems to be crashing on me frequently. Also really not keen on the new latest unread posts, where its split into all the separate forum folders. It's just much more work scanning through rather than seeing all new posts in one lists.

^Settings > Latest Ordering > Sort by date.

That should take it back to how it was. :)

Worked a treat! My OCD in having to clear all unread messages was stressing me out with the new long winded approach. *relaxes*

Tapping the 'unread' tab itself also toggles between sort by date and forum :)
