Hello All,
This thread is for any concept art, no matter how small, either official or un-official. I have a fascination with concept art for rides, i think it would be good to keep a resource open for people to enjoy...
Anyone one got the Thirteen Art that was kept hush? Can we safely say that we can re-post it now? There really were some cool looking pieces of art...

Ah yes, the old concept images are back out again, it about time!
It was because of the 'leak' of those concept images that I got interested in this site; started reading it for a while and then joined.
The robo-arms do looks amazing, but there is no way there is space for what is shown in that picture, we'd be lucky to get one! And think of the throughput! Plus they'd need like a million different 'docking' points for them, something conveniently not shown at all in that picture. Still, I can dream of that scene at Alton Towers, it would make Dark Forest. (although they wouldn't be much of a relief ride for Thirteen/Rita, I could imagine them being the star attraction of the area).

Incase your wondering these are planned for the area towards the end of Dark Forest where Ug Swinger used to reside. The area obviously would be enlarged but you could happily fit in a good 7 or so of the machines. The robo-arms do looks amazing, but there is no way there is space for what is shown in that picture, we'd be lucky to get one! Wow. I forgot how good those arms looked. The concept art is very unrealistic, but all concept art is, and normally very different from anything the real ride is like. Look at the concept for Thirteen. Has nothing to do with the rides theme of bad luck, and it stated the ride would titlt rather than drop, and that the tunnel would be after the last switch.
You could fit a few arms in the Ug Swinger area, although the rocks and water features would need toning down a bit in the real thing.

Just having a look at some old disks and found this from the planning stages of UgLand.
For those who have not seen them, here is the concept art for the original Haunted House.
Drawing Room Turned out mostly as planned but with different decoration. Still operating today, though with many missing effects, different lighting and the TV screens.
Poltergiest Room Turned out as planned, but as far as I know the beams of light did not appear. Still operating today but much less noticable.
Dining Room Turned out mostly as planned, but with different decoration to that seen in the concept art. Also, the demon looks very different. This scene was altered after opening when the haunted table and the detailed decoration was added. Still operating today but the mirror illusion is much less noticable.
Crash Column Defunct, but remains can still be seen of the UV painted theming and archway.
Gateway to Hell Very different to what did appear. Instead of the Indiana Jones-style appearance, stonework architecture appeared. Trommel Tunnel still operates today, but never looked like the artwork.
The Giant Did appear, but removed several years after opening. Nothing survives today; the giant finger props have been replaced by zombies and the window where the head was now has ghosts behind the glass.
Hall of Spiders Did appear, but altered after opening. The blue glow appearance was lost when the set was repainted to not include UV. The giant cobwebs no longer exist.
The Ghost Corridor Defunct after one year and altered into the Skeleton Corridor. Little of either scene remains apart from ElectricBill. However, patches of theming and remains of old effect mechanisms can be found.
Screaming Room Still operating today, but with different props to those seen in the concept art.
Thanks to Haunted One.

The Dark Forest concepts always looked awesome but I really like that one! Wish the real thing had turned out like that! They definately need some flat rides and the area needs more theming, statues, and definately the water features. Love the bridges and walkways too.
I really hope the area expands next year. [-o<

Your personal art is great, didn't it keep getting mistaken as official :P . In fact I’m currently working on a Th13teen scenery set for RCT and I might add a castle style entrance like the one you designed above.
A bit off topic but I remember someone posting a ShetchUp model of the original Th13teen entrance last year. If they still have it saved I can convert it into the RCT file type and add it into the set too. (Scenery piece will be credited under their username)

(Old pictures)
My version of Th13teen's element room:
(Never been on or seen decent pictures of it)

Instead of creating a new topic just dragging this one back up. Was browsing the web as per usual and came across these pieces of art work of two of the characters as seen at the theme park, Squirrel Nutty and Darwin the Dodo, both created for Alton Towers by John Walters.
