I feel really sorry for you bet you would have been great. Do you think it could be your age?

Go for it next year, get a bit of experience under your belt. At least you can now enjoy Alton Towers all summer as a guest :)

Ye ill keep applying until im like 80 as it would be my dream job (regardless of my friends opinions of "you can do better than working at a theme park") :D

I think it could possibly be my age, i thought about that earlier and, ye at the interview i was just like always using kfc as my examples cos its the only place ive worked. Never mind, i will be able to visit in the summer and hopefully ill still be able to go back to work at kfc at towers, so i will still be able to work there, just not for towers.

Anayway, I wish the very best of luck to everyone else who has attended an interview :D

I'd be fairly suprised if your age wasn't an issue - certainly at Legoland, ride ops must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and I'd be very surprised if that wasn't the case at Alton (certainly surprised that that isn't advertised.).

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Ops have to be 18, Hosts have to be 16.

The host age was risen to 18 back in 2008, but has since come back down. I still expect though that age and experience will be considered during interview, so for a 16 year old to get a job on one of the thrill teams would be more difficult.

I worked back at the towers in 2006, when I was 16.
Plus with all the age discrimination laws in place I can't see it.
I have attended so many interviews over the 4 years that I have been working, and the last one (at towers yesterday) was my most confident.

It will come with time :) x
Just keep trying you will get there in the end.

Just be your self, and be confident.
Thats the best advice I can give. They look for your personality to show through in the group task.

That's interesting. Did they tell you why they wanted to give you a host job and not an operator?

I've applied for operator, wonder if they'll give me a job, let alone host or operator. :P

Got my contract through today

Just wondering, where on it does it declare what team you're on as it doesn't for mine. Nor did i get told over the phone.

I think the team is decided during the induction.

You will always get a host place unless you are returning directly. From there you can work up to Op but you will never start as one. As for the team I don't think its decided at the assesment but your interviewer does have 1st dips on you
