Can I just say thankyou to everyone that has uploaded these new photos. I live all the way near Wimbledon, London and I don't get the chance to go to Alton Towers - 1st time being last year.
It's really keeping my interested in SW6 until I someday ride it, by then SW8/9 and 10 will be finished :P
Im looking forward to see the World's First element being unveiled and I have faith, that someone here will take a picture.
I expect construction on the track to be finished sometime next week, and then electricals, themeing, testing, etc and more will come.

Crane was moving bits of stairs into the station when we were stuck in an almost 2 hour Rita queue. Didn't see much else going on though.

Thanks once again Altonator!
That photo shows much better the two metal 'V's which I was talking about earlier in the week.
You can see the top piece of track's V is upside down, whereas the bottom piece of track is a normal V.
It really does look like some kind of mechanism will be moving between those two points, and the V's will guide its placement.

Just to clear something up from these photos to avoid pointless discussion.
If you zoom in on this white van a little, it's from Merlin Studio's North which is based at Towers, behind Cloud Cuckoo Land.
This van is from a company called StaSafe. They provide equipment for "safety at height" such as safety netting, and harnesses and carabinas and such, like they use on Oblivion. Their website says they are based in Stratford-Upon-Avon which isn't too far I guess. All the purplet netting in these two photos presumably comes from them. I wonder if it's all temporary or any of it is in anyway permanent.

Bit of a silly question really but...
Could the fact that on the banner where it says
"Ride the Demon of The Dark Forest"
All of the O's have a ~ underneath them, now is this just a letter or does that symbol have a meaning or something which could relate to its name
Just a thought :P

I researched this when the images first came about.
The letter in question, is the Hebrew vowel Patach, which is pronounced as an "a" sound, so it would be "Ride the DemAn Af the Dark FArest" if you were to use the Hebrew pronunciation of the vowel.
It could reference the fact that demons are quite prevalent in Jewish religion and it's a subtle hint as to the back story based on a Jewish demon.
Or, it may just be that the font had underlines O's and it looks cool!

or it is just the font because if you read it out with that you sound like you've got a strange accent.

Didn't I mention before that it's not a gothic font, but more like a celtic/saxon font? :P

Nothing amazingly new, but lots of construction was going on. Metal bars were being fitted to the station's framework, and builders were drilling holes underneath the raised track in the station (around the pit area). Some insulated metal work was being delivered behind the back of Burger King, probably for the walls of the station building. Also, The building and lift hill really are huge! They have just appeared out of nowhere in only about a month.

My gawd, Alton looks lovely with a bit of mist! This should look sweet once the building is complete, looming out of the fog!
