Heh, just had an email from Alton Towers pushing 'Thirteen, the Ultimate Rollercoaster, from 20 March 2010'.
"Thirteen - the ultimate Rollercoaster, from 20 March 2010
Push your luck on TH13TEEN, the ultimate rollercoaster, which joins a long list of world first attractions at the Alton Towers Resort on 20 March 2010.
Book tickets online now to be one of the very first to experience TH13TEEN in the seemingly living and breathing Dark Forest. "
The email coming hot on the heels of the Preview cancellation email (rather bad timing as far I'm concerned) I do wonder about whether the 20th is even possible though.

Bootcampers have just had another email saying, again, that the ride is still having minor technical problems and that no date for bootcamp has been set.
The email says that the date will hopeully be before park opening on the 20th and that the successful bootcamp attendees will still be the first to ride.
Why has the map only got Dark Forest marked as an area. There are no signs for Forbidden Valley, Gloomy Wood, X-Sector...?
They don't show the full map online or in the Sun, things like area names and food outlets are missing, the Dark Forest is on there to promote it as it is new.

'Blipverts? Are they the same as teaser style adverts?
Glad to see they're pushing Thirteen though, and on some of the most popular progammes around too Are they the only showings, or will we see more frequent occurences on some of the less expensive digital channels?

Blipverts are very short adverts shown during commercial breaks. They're normally used in the run up to larger adverts in order to generate wonder into what it's all about. ITV have little animated flashes of the ITV logo on some of their ad breaks, I would imagine this would be similar with either the Th13teen logo or a quick 5 second video clip of something related to the ride. That could be a rider's reaction or some footage of the cars and track.
Looking good though, should create some suspense for a full advert .

Ahh, excellent! I watch Glee fairly religiously so that is music to my ears!
I also watch a bit of Hollyoaks now and then so I'll try and remember to tune in at that time.
Anyway I'll try my hardest to record the 'blipvert', both if they're different too, and post it to youtube for anyone not watching to see so no one has to wait until friday.
Mind you, if my recorder's hard drive throws a wobbly like it always does (I'll try it out on something else first) I may video it, so beware of bad quality.
It's good to see that they're already starting to advertise And at the right times and places, too. I think that covers a large demographic of the country with those put together
I can imagine them being really enigmatic, which will cause the GP to start questioning what they are, and trying to research it...then falling upon the same mysteries we have!
Which, I hope, will only intrigue them more
