I agree, why would a company change there extremely successful, incredibly recognizable track design, when they are not running out of orders. Its a design that is proven its self over the years. I just cant see B&M changing there way of working.

Out of the manufactures (i know i said earlier that i wanted to wait till conformation) I can only really see Intamin or Premier. I really don't mind who builds this ride tho.

Leroy, you missed a few words! Intamin, Premier, Mack Etc!

Come on, what makes you think it gonna be B&M so much! Nothing is pointing to them according to the plans and kind of ride its gonna be.

Does the track on the plans always have to be the same track that is actually used on the real ride?

Just wondering!

Yeah, as those plans submitted into planning have to show a real representation of what the ride will look like.

The plans show the impact on what the ride will have on the area.

I hope that helps :D

Part 2 of my coaster manufacturer elimination overview.

Part 1 here.

Vekoma

[s:3s0r3dt2]Boomerang Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2](Wipeout)
[s:3s0r3dt2]Invertigo[/s:3s0r3dt2]
[s:3s0r3dt2]Giant Inverted Boomerang[/s:3s0r3dt2] (DeJaVu)
[s:3s0r3dt2]Big Air[/s:3s0r3dt2]
Wrong layout.

[s:3s0r3dt2]Suspended Looping Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2] (Infusion)
[s:3s0r3dt2]Suspended Family Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
[s:3s0r3dt2]Swinging Suspended Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
[s:3s0r3dt2]Splash Party[/s:3s0r3dt2]
Wrong ride type.

[s:3s0r3dt2]LSM Launch Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
SW6 has a lifthill, and these rides start with a launch. Also, wrong track type.

[s:3s0r3dt2]Stingray[/s:3s0r3dt2]
[s:3s0r3dt2]Flying Dutchman[/s:3s0r3dt2] (Firehawk)
Alton already have a flying coaster. Also, doesn't fit with layout at all.

[s:3s0r3dt2]Junior Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
Kids ride.

[s:3s0r3dt2]Custom Looping Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
SW6 has no inversions. Also supports are wrong and would Alton really build one of these?!

[s:3s0r3dt2]Mine Train[/s:3s0r3dt2]
Track design totally wrong, also a kids ride!

Motorbike Launch Coaster
Extreme outside possibility. Certainly falls into the catagory of "family thrill" but they would have to change the design to incorporate a lift hill and change the track design, as seen here.

[s:3s0r3dt2]Spinning Coaster[/s:3s0r3dt2]
Layout certainly doesn't look like a spinning layout. Also wrong track design.

Expedition Everest
Aside from an unknown new design, the only plausible design currently available from Vekoma. Not shown on their website. Switchback section in place on EE. Track design looks nothing like that on the plans.

This ride is screaming Intamin at me. Even if it's just the track design. Whatever it is I don't think it will be a ride anyone could order from the manufacturer - not only is it a custom layout but probably a custom ride type for Alton. I think the best bet is a Mega-Lite right now. This would solve the problem of how they will deliver a ride with Secret Weapon standard thrills with a seemingly small layout - those things are known to be insanely intense. But combined with other elements, possibly Maverick's sped up lift hill and either a backwards launch with switch track or a tilt section. Vekoma have experience in the last two, could it be a hybrid in that regard? Special ride elements from a third party has been done before (Hulk)...

Maverick...

Also you are missing the fundamental fact that this may simply be a new type of coaster, after all it has elements of a world first within it.

Kaz that is all very true. However such manufacturers as Intamin are well known for adding world first elements to a concrete roller coaster design. Which shows in many of their roller coasters around the world.

Same track design, same supports, LIM based lift hills, Intamin.

What coaster is that a photo of?

Indeed it is, and as a result I now feel it is safe to make an educated guess that this will in fact be Intamin. However, this will be a custom, a mixture of coasters, designed around the needs of Alton.

I think it will be either:

1) Mack or Gerstlauer based on their portafolio
2) Vekoma: Expedition Everest-type (Switchback)
3) Intamin: Maverick (LSE)-type OR Califonia Screamin'

Kaz kinda nailed the head on the bullet with that and because I am open:

4) A B&M Prototype to please Leroy, as it is possible B&M are designing some "thing" that is different and unusal to what they normally make.

The magical men at intamin can make it any colour you like.

Personally, for this coaster I would like to see it have no colour, just a clear protective coat so that it looks pretty much like this:

I think it would fit with the theme pretty well.

I have also always quite liked the idea of chroming track, even though it will never happen :P

I'm still amazed that people are adamant that it will be B&M :? Theres just no logic behind it being so!

I agree with most of what has been said here though, it does look like it will be an Intamin. Either way it'll be good whatever manufacturer it is. Looking over the plans recently i never realised how steep that first drop was! I know its not extremely steep but still, its steeper than I thought it was!

I cannot wait to see construction start now. :D

It's because he's a troll and enjoys watching people:

a) getting cross at him about it.
b) believing him.

He gets a real kick out of the lie :)

Well we don't need to worry about that now since he's been banned, so we can get back to some constructive discussion now :D.

Craig I love you! :D

Anywayz...I would love to see an Intamin because they did something wonderful with EE and Maverick looks amazing.

I can possibly see some Maverick/Califonia Screamin-type coaster fused with Expedition Everest-minetrain style mixed in with a WF element.

If it can have the WF element, lots-a airtime, nice coaster experience, nice landscaping, nice themeing, launch forward/backwards elements, switchback tracks, nice atmosphere, nice station, nice story.

It's looking to be one of the best coasters out there!

That will be a first lol! Im convinced that this conversation will run so much smoother.

Those pics of Calafornia Screaming is making me tend towards Intamin. I do think that this could be a world class coaster.

Im looking forward to the 4th June, I will be able to get an idea of the scale of the project. i.e size of the station. I will try to get a pic update online when I get back to put in the constuction topic.
