Meh - going to ask another question, simply because if it is a hoax, I've already made a fool of myself!
My question is - will there be some form of preshow, or extended show in the interior of the building.
Even better, wholistic colour plans, addressed to my room at university would be super

They're not answering the questions properly anyway. I could make up some stupid answers to some of these questions as well, watch:
Maude, what kind of viral campaign can we expect? Youtube? ARG? Mini-website?
We will produce bits of things that you can take in via different means. It will be viral stuff sort of thing. The media is definately something we will use to market this.
Wow!
To be frank, this is all just clutter in the forum that we really could do without...
I must disagree, I think it's fun.
As you said yourself, the forum is more buzzing that it has been since Rita, hopefully whether this campaign is real or not the buzz it creates will last until we start seeing some actual on-site progress.

This all seems very late to still be answering questions on this project. I know that I have backed up the info packs in my previous post, but seriously! 11:30 for another answer.
I think the most anticipated answer alot of us want in who is the manufacturer? They should be able to answer this if they are part of the project team....

I'm just frustrated that people are saying that they are hoaxes without providing proof. They want 'the believers' to do exactly what they are preaching against, believing in something without concrete evidence.

And the circle of this discussion is now complete LOL
Seriously though - as much as I've enjoyed tracking this discussion tonight, there are a few facts we can see from it all:
1. Groundwork has definately begun.
2. It IS tagged as Secret Weapon 6.
3. There will be an official press release later in the year.
Even though we've been allegedly hoaxed by these "viral campaigns," I'd say it's been good for the park in the amount of hype it has caused. Let's be honest - it's not really done any damage has it? Except to add 20-odd pages to an already massive thread

Lets not dismiss this until we know for sure, if it is genuine then we could be missing out on a real opportunity here! I know it may be a bit hard to belive but it is all very professional what with the timings and the way the post are written. I'm going to keep believing.

I'd actually say it was unprofessional in the timings. What marketing agency in the UK actually works past 10pm at night to post some clues and answers to questions about a viral campaign?

What in the hell was that
Sarcasm, I believe.
Im looking forward to half past - just to see what happens. Im glad this has happened - even if these are all hoaxes, interestin in SW6 has multiplied again - groundwork has started, which is something to get excited about!

Right, guys, it's all very exciting but this topic is moving stupidly fast due to lots of posts that have a more 'conversational' tone and don't really contribute. PLEASE from now on, only post if you have something interesting to contribute, as this topic is very hard to keep up with...
Thank you please.
Thank you please.

Whilst it is interesting "Maude de Neville" is appearing to answer posed questions, their replies are nothing short of ambiguous and deliberately chosen so little is given away. Such generic answers in my eyes could come from anybody, and to be perfectly honest could all be made up anyway.
I am getting excited by this as it is specualtion that AT are starting to do something which is the most secretive marketing since Oblivion, but I look at the current signs and can't help feel that they could have been made by anybody. 99% of videos seem to have been a mixture of seeming unrelated images and themes stuck together with stock footage. Whilst at once, these could ahve easily been seen as viral, its not hard to create such videos with the likes of Sony Vegas, or similar.
I really want to believe in this, but somehow I feel for a viral campaign answering forum questions is not a traditional or effective method. of course, this could be all part of a bigger campaign, and all the recent online events could be a hoax from the same marketing source, its certainly got us all thrown and engaged in discussion

I would say the alton hound theory seems pretty plausible, if not then something along the lines of trees gaining nutrients from the crypt and the numerous buried artifacts.
If the on-ride photo does turn out to be in the backwards tilt section (indoor) then the the ride photos will look unique. As the riders pupils will become smaller when they hit daylight, and therefore look "possessed" if only.
Can't wait for the real marketing campaign to begin as alton towers have always been industry leaders in marketing and should produce a professional imaginative good quality campaign.

Like i said before i can see some truth comming out of the info given, but I do think that this has been emelished to become a hoax. Thike And. said, who in marketing works past 6pm let alone 11:30 :
I just hope that all this hype we have been getting this week will not become a let down once the ride is open.

Well to be honest - how many enthusiasts are sitting on a forum about Alton Towers during normal working hours? The majority of us are on in the evening - im sure someone would be happy for a bit of overtime pay to answer some questions on a forum
Then again, it could all be an amature effort.....

I was just thinking that it would be weird to say that you are doing viral marketing for Alton. I was expecting something different like another video or even a mini site. Something just doesn't seem right.
Although I'm really pleased that I got a reply from Rachael Lockitt and if I knew that an e-mail was all it took to find out if it was a SW I would have done it ages ago. Knowing that it is a secret weapon has restored faith in me and shows that we are in for a big treat. I'm unhappy were not getting a press release soon but at least were getting one later on in the year.
Isn't it funny how Maude said that it's defintally a Secret Weapon after I posted that it is. Coincidence?

It just seems a bit random that before construction has started that they have decided to allow us to ask questions at this time of night. They must be doing the same on ATA etc. Do you not think that they may have created a page on the offical site for Q&A, simelar to what they did for stelth and saw at thorpe.
