Today is the day that one of the more ambitious changes goes live. For a while now, we have had two main off topic forums. Courtyard Tavern was the forum for randomness, humour and general mucking around. We then had Refresh@TTF where we had wide ranging discussion from music, TV, news and pretty much anything else that wasn't quite silly enough to go in the Tavern.
We've realised that there's not a clear definition on what topics go where, and due to the increased popularity of these forums they've started to get a little clogged up and a tad "spammy" over recent months. So, the decision has been made to create 3 brand new forums which have resulted in Refresh@TTF and Courtyard Tavern being removed. So, without further ado, here's a quick rundown of the new forums:
Ma Garrita's
Named after the Splash Landing's bar which is many a TTF'ers second home
. Ma Garrita's has been created in an effort to create a fresh start and to encourage a return to the humour and fun which the Tavern was all about in days gone by. Favourites such as the caption competition and hilarious mallet topics will return, along with an effort by the team to prevent it from returning to a link dump/spam fest which had happened with the Tavern recently.X-Cite
Refresh@TTF had been getting a little busy as of late, and there was no clear definition as to what goes in there. So, we have created X-Cite to create a new home for entertainment topics. Anything about games, TV, music and movies will now be located in here.
Corner Coffee
Corner Coffee is the place for anything to do with news, current affairs, sport and general discussion. As with Refresh, discussion is likely to be heated so you'll see some additional guidelines published as was the case before.

So what about old topics?
The main idea behind all this is to create a fresh start for the off topic forums on TTF, and that's why we haven't just gone with renaming the current forums. However, we do realise that some topics warrant moving over. The team have already moved some of the more active existing topics to their new homes, whilst some have started afresh (happy birthday, and welcome to the forums for example). However, if you feel something does need to be moved and it hasn't, feel free to contact a member of the team.
Is this a permanent change?
Well, at first this is a trial to see how things go with three seperate off topic forums. We're pretty sure it will work, as there's been a lot of discussion surrounding it's creation. And, it should generate some fantastic topics and discussion in future.
What about Tavern Landlords?
With the removal of the Tavern, we've decided to do away with the Tavern Landlord position. However, the current landlord (Evil Cod) has accepted a position on the TTF Team as a moderator which is effective immediately. The whole moderating team will now be able to take care of all forums, meaning a much easier job for us, and a hopefully a better quality of posts too.
