Hey,

For my Music Technology composition this year, I have decided to write a theme for...well... a theme park :P.

Basically, what would you like to see in theme park music? And apart from ITHOTMK, what other inspirational theme music have you heard from theme parks?

(Hope that makes sense....)

Michael

(Mods: Didnt know where to put this, feel free to move it if you feel it is more suited elsewhere)

Vampire, Duel Queue Line & Hex are may favourites. I personally like tracks with a haunting sound with a nice soft vocal in the back ground.

Here will give you and idea of what i mean. *plug* lol

Classical piece apart from ITHOTMK? Tricky! LOL :P

Lakme: The Flower Duet can be very good in it's un-touched form (resemble the gardens?) if jazzed up like BA have done in many of their adverts (this could be used for family rides?) or using one of a few dance mixes (used for the thrill rides?), mix this up with ride music like colossus (post-5mins) and hex, maybe duel, Valhalla and a few others and you could have a rather good contrasting piece of different music all in one to resemble all that a theme park has to offer.

Mars, from the The Planets suite by Gustav Holst. I love that piece, its really popular too. Used a lot in movies. I think it would work in a theme park too though.

TowersStreet have published an interview with IMAscore co-founder, Andreas Kübler. It's an interesting read for sure, so I'd recommend checking it out! :)
