You are probebly thinking that this is not a theme park - as it as a tower. For the people who don't know what stratosphere tower is it is a observation tower in Las Vegas with it twist.
The tower is 350m soaring into the sky from the top of the Las Vegas strip. There are 3 thrill rides at the top of the tower which two of them were just new last year. The rides are called. 'Big Shot', 'Insanity' and 'X-Scream'. These rides are not suited anywhere else (apart from 'Big Shot') because these rides give a maximum thrill because the main fear factor is the hight.
Big shot is a Upward launch ride - hence the name. This ride opend with the tower. video
Inanity is one of the most recent of the ride which spins you over the edge of the tower at a height of 900 feet at 40mph - which doesnt seem fast but it is a thrill when you are near enough facing the ground! video
x-scream to me is the scairest because of the surpise drop in one point of the ride. But being the only person on it at 11.30 pm at night also makes the that bit scarier, and even at the front! Video
What do you all think people, Would you ride these? Have any of you?
( cheers Dave, for helping with the links)
Las Vegas Attractions
I would ride them. I'm scared of heights but only when i'm not secure e.g a ladder. Coasters and thrill rides i have no problem. They look so fun! Just wondering, why did High Roller close?
That's weird 'cos on RCDB is says it stopped operating on 30th December last year.

nope it closed. 2 reasons as far as Im aware:
Official reason, to allow for further developments.
Other reason, it sucked, big style! I went on it a few years ago and found big shot alot more fun

It turns out I'm making a flying visit to Las Vegas next weekend and I was wondering if there were any coasters I really need to take in?
Please help me - my knowledge doesn't stretch much further than Blighty and Orlando...

Only go one Rollercoaster (fka manhatten express) if you want to be over charged for one of the worst rides in the world, I would even choose X:/NWO over it! Not coasters but the rides up the top of Stratosphere are deffinatly worth a visit for pure fear factor. Circus Circus is a nice little park but the coasters are nothing special.

Three rides you must do in Vegas:
Speed: The Ride - Located down town by the stratosphere,
X-Scream - Top of the stratosphere (best ride I have ever been on in terms of thrill)
Manhattan Express or as its now called Roller Coaster - Unique ride, worth doing just to experience the dive loop. It has also just received an update making the ride a lot more comfortable and overall better.
If you haven’t been Vegas before though you will love it, I go roughly every two years when im in the US. Another must is the fountains; make sure you give them a go as they are breathtaking! O, and if you are able to take a drive down to the Hoover Dam do so, just an amazing piece of engineering, plus they take you on a tour right deep underground to see the turbine halls and so on.
Anyway, have a good time and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
PS – Sexy girls everywhere and Mexicans handing out porno cards!

Forget about Manhatten Express (well Dont beacuse its a credit), but make sure you go on Speed @ the Sahara. !! Absoutely brilliant ride... And something you CANNOT miss.... It it so much better than Manhatten Express !! RIDE IT !!! Get an Unlimited ride band for about 20-25 bucks... Ride it... ride it... and ride it !!
(If I havent already mentioned... its a GREAT ride !!!)
You can’t go by that video, the ride now has new trains that are A LOT smoother, plus if about £5 is a small fortune you’re pretty tight.
Ahh ok it is a good few years since I went on it and it was incredibly painfull. I did hear it got new trains but when I still heard no positive reports I assumed they hadnt made much difference.
And back then they were charging what equated to about 9 pound a ride.
Which yes to me for 1 ride is a small fortune.

I didn't care for any of the coasters in Vegas. There is Desperado at Buffalo Bill's Casino just outside of Vegas if you have a car. That was the only one I actually liked. My friend hated it, but I thought it was good.

I went to Vegas last summer and the rides there are pretty good.
Speed is the best ride there and the rides on the strat are pretty breath taking as will
Manhattan express is ok, didn’t find it that painful, but it is nothing special.
If you are going to go and see a show you have to go and see blue man group, they are really good, and la reve is good as well.
