Thanks Ben! :D

I'd say that this is also confirmation that it will be a Sonic retheme and not just a simple repaint.

A very nice blue chosen.

there is very little activity beyond the paintwork on the supports as yet, but i would expect the current theming to be removed or ammended.
Also the blue isnt a million miles away from the greeny/blue the ride currently is, i still think it will be an eye-sore near the towers but at least a slightly better looking one.

I'm a bit worried we've overestimated this retheme. Could we just being a retheme as well as a entrance sign change to "Sonic's Spinball - sponsored by SEGA"?

That is an awfully Sonic-y blue. Hopefully the track won't just be repainted a different red. That would be a bit half-bottomed. I kind of hoped the track would have been repainted blue and the supports a new colour, but there you go.

Let's remember, despite heavy rumours and TTF's seeming confidence in the project, nothing is confirmed. Giving some supports a repaint in a darker version of the colour they already are does not a re-theme make.

So, next question, what will become of the Beastie? Re-theme a knackered old kids' Pinfari into something shiny, new and Sega-approved? Or maybe moved? Even if it's just into Storybook Land (dragon theme would fit in). Can't have a knackered old kids' Pinfari embarrassing our (potentially) beautifully newly themed Spinball.
For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. There is no happy ending to this story. Welcome to the unknown. Welcome to eternal darkness.

Welcome to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Ride

staff on park were highly amused by my 7 year old saying "thats the new sonic ride for next year." The staff member asked "how have you heard that?" very suprised but saw the funny side of it.
He didnt deny it and seemed that shocked that he knew im taking that as confirmation lol.

The blue doesn't look massively different to the current turquoisey colour, at least not in the picture taken from a difference anyway. Saying that though, I do like it, and it's a nice Leicester City royal blue! :P

I'm not expecting too much from this re-theme, just the re-paint, a new name and entrance, and maybe a few small bits of theming if we're lucky. I really hope the track is also re-painted, although I do have my doubts about this happening.

I would imagine the bulky work will be done once the Winter events end so, from 4th January the ride can be themed accordingly. They will have 6 weeks before the Half Term event.

I can't help but think it could simply just be a re-paint, I would like to see Sonic Spinball but it is perfectly plausible that it could just be a re-paint.

They were selling off Spinball medals and stuff for ridiculously cheap prices at the end of last season. There's also been rumours for quite a while now, so a retheme does look likely.

However, you could be right, but at the moment things point towards a retheme. :)

Unless there is snow, floods, storms...

I would say that this could just be a repaint but as the Spinball signs are in turquoise it's unlikely they would keep them with the new paintjob.

Sonic + Spinning coaster = interesting match (although I think the spining direction would make more sense on a ball coaster).

I still think the Spinball theme was unique just not implemented brilliantly.

Didn't that guy (nj... somthing like that) mention that the carts were broken. could there be some truth in what he said?

I know it looks more likely for a re-theme it's just we could be making a big fuss over nothing, only time will tell.

Would be interesting to see a re-theme, and Sonic would be ace.

But, it could just be a re-paint as the new color for the support matches the pinball scenery thats been there since the ride opened quite well.

If it becomes Sonic Spinball then a vast amount of the pinball scenary will be kept. This way they can retheme the ride, without doing too much. New signs, coat of paint, new soundtrack, and voila. That way you get a rethemed ride, that can easily fit into the seasons budget. Sonic Spinball is a pinball style game.

No need! Many of us reckon that SEGA will pay entirely for the (small) retheme as part of a sponsership deal for the new Sonic game. AT won't have to pay anything, or won't receive anything.

What I mean is it gives more appeal to Sega. If AT asked them to sponser the ride, they are more likely to do it if it is cheaper. Whereas if it is expensive they could be reluctant to.

It's looking good! Nice shade of blue, not as dark as I imagined it would be but it goes well nevertheless.

Even if there is no re-theme, the ride will still look better with a new paint job so it's a win win really.
