Knight Valley, part of a resort complex called OCT East. Another theme park in the resort was the site of that horrible flat ride accident earlier this year that killed several.

I read in First Drop that when Fireball was built the Chinese people were horrified. They simply don't use wood in China, they don't trust it... Everything is made of bamboo. The park seriously considered trying to make a bamboo coaster!
Apparently only "male teenage daredevils" who are trying to impress their mates ride it. Most people won't go near it. But those who do love it.

Bamboo coaster? Have Alton found a new niché first? :P Way around the idiots who think they are unsafe: "Well it isn't made from wood, it's built with grass" :P

Here's a picture which really shows how huge this coaster is!

It looks absolutely incredible but do I think this could be world's best coaster? Not yet. It may look absolutely incredible but if it's got awful pacing and is rough as hell then it won't get anywhere near the top spot. (Although GCI are well-renowned for making incredibly smooth coasters, there can be exceptions.)

Is this going to top the Mitch Hawker Poll? No. Sadly due to its location it probably won't get enough riders to warrant it a place on the poll.

This coaster shows just how much the theme park industry in China has boomed, I reckon in a few years time it will replace American parks as the "Mecca" for coaster enthusiasts.

Personally I can't see Oakwood getting a 2nd Woody, they need a cheaper, and more sell-able coaster. As for Flamingo Land's, it has been pretty much ruled out for the moment, though hopefully they will build it eventually.

DiogoJ42

I really can't see Merlin EVER building a woodie. I think FlamingMinger Land is our only hope. :(

I have to say, this could be one of the most impressive wooden coaster spectacles ever.

And people say steel coasters are impressive?! This has pushed epic coasters into another dimension.

Now, when's Alton installing that Woodie?
DiogoJ42

The scale of this beast boggles the mind! This is going to be a firm contender for "greatest coaster ever built".

Now that's a birthday present

Even if it isn't one of the best (ha, as if it won't be), it will still be one of the greatest ustfor the sheer madness of it.

Me gusto mucho
Sazzle

Wow - what a spectacle!

Looks as though there's another huge section to go up, too, which will make it quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing coaster I'll have ever set eyes on.

I do wonder, though, where these far-flung places get the money from for such grand developments? Not that I'm complaining!
