This ride might actually open one day!

• Problems with the anti-rollbacks (or lack of) on the lift hill.
• It stalled the other day and it will continue to do so everytime its midly windy. The non-inverting loop is too big and takes all the speed out of the train. Also too many breakruns slowing the train down.

I think its been pretty badly designed, all the problems delaying its opening could easily have been avoided.

It looks good but it could be so much better.

I think it valleyed too unless that's what you meant by stalled. It looks a good ride on paper, but when you see how slow it takes everything it makes me wanna bash the designer's head against a wall. They could have put the MCBRs and had them not slow the train down too much. Also as said, that loop is just too big, and it doesn't even look that thrilling.

I can imagine this ride will feel much faster when riding. I do hope they try and hide the support structure of the mid course break run, like they showed on the concept art for the lift hill. I still think it looks out of place running along the edge of the studios.

I was expecting something really glitzy and snazzy that compliments the modern look of city walk instead they seem to be trying to blend it into the disused studio buildings, it just looks a mess IMO. Too many break runs also.

HHN looks like its going to have another year. I hope it is The Director to return as this year's icon, it makes sense with the Saw stuff and the name....and the fact he's one of my 3 favourite HHN (along with Jack and the Storyteller haha)

I am hopefully fingers crossed going in october i hope it is open by then and they sort out all the delays that have acured i think it looks good fun not to fast not to slow therefore appealing to a wider range however there is allot of break runs that might be a bit enoying and im not to keen on the lap restraints i never feel safe!

I was at Universal last week, and this ride really is a big blot on the landscape. Doesn't fit in at all; the supports, especially on the lift hill and MCBRs, are very ugly. At the time, I thought the fact that it looked like a great layout redeemed it, but watching the speed it takes it at in that testing video it doesn't look like a very exciting ride at all

I Don't understand why they built it. Universal is not about coasters, its about expanding on the brand and offering us the chance to ride our favourite movies. They got it sooo right with The Mummy and now seem to have got it so wrong.
Wouldn't it have been better built out side the park around the city walk and made into a pay to ride attraction.
Lets face it, the studios are ugly. If they are not being used then knock them down and use the land for another MIB/Simpsons style building that compliments a movies theme, don't build an ungly coaster to compliment ugly un used buildings. [-X

The lift hill was meant to be getting decorated, according to the concept art, dunno what happened to that. (Would still look ugly even with decorations)

I believe Rip Ride Rockit is meant to stay open along with City Walk, I presume then it would become pay-to-ride. It was meant to do this when it was first announced, the idea could have changed.

Universal have updated the HHN website. The most noteable change is this page: Link (The Universal Palace Theatre)

For me, this all seems to be leading into either The Director, or as rumoured "The Usher". Both of which could even be the same person.
On the Universal Palace Theatre page, on the intro, the voice sounds a bit like the puppet out of SAW. (In my opinion)

Was going over to Orlando 12th - 26th Sept, thinking of shifting it to a week or 2 later now to catch some of this, my question really is, Is the HHN covered by the Flexi-park tickets?

Hi Davey,

No the HHN event is not covered by the Orlando Flex Ticket. It's a separately ticketed event which you will need to buy tickets for. If you happen to be in Universal Studios the day HHN is taking place you can buy what's called a "Stay & Scream" ticket meaning you don't have to leave the park, you are simply moved to a holding area until the event begins.

If you're not a day visitor you can buy an event ticket at a slightly higher price and go whichever night you like. Something else worth considering is the Express Pass which means you can by pass the regular lines at the haunted houses and any rides which are open. These are very expensive though often costing more than entry to the event itself.

I wasn't too sure about the event when Chucky, Saw and The Wolfman were announced but since seeing the Theatre side of the website and the ongoing construction I am officially convinced it'll be a stormer.

From what I've read it will be an Usher (or group of them) rather than the legendary Director. FAO Alton if any of you are reading this, just send someone to HHN for crying out loud and then attempt to recreate it!

Many thanks for that info Towersfan, I think we'll probably go for the Stay & Scream ticket then if we end up being there when they are on, like the idea of going to the haunted houses it looks like it's something not to miss. Do you know roughly how much more the stay and scream tickets are, I've seen the normal ones are about $60?

I would love the chance to get to experience some of the parks in the USA over Halloween, as they really seem to go that extra mile.

My best friend moved over to the States a couple of years back, and I've promised that I'll go to visit him next year, and I might just change the dates from the July to October...

To the people who've been before, what other parks (aside from Universal), are worth visiting at Halloween?

I've not been over before however from the research I've done Disney do a very family orientated event which I've heard mixed reviews over but I'm sure will be fantastic .... theres no horror mazes but there's plenty of parades and fireworks as well as trick or treating which all guests are encouraged to participate in.

On the horror maze front I'd give some serious thought about visiting Howl O Scream which is Busch Garden's major event in Tampa (about an hours drive from Orlando) it seems to be Universals biggest rival for that kind of event, some have said that the Mazes can be a bit more extreme although i'm not sure if the theming is quite the same but it might well be worth a visit. On Orlando's International drive there used to be a whole host of haunted attractions which have since shut down but theres still one or two lurking that might be worth a look.

Hi guys, just a quicky, what do people tend to do with buying the tickets for the theme parks? I don't know if should buy them before we go or buy them when over there?

I'd suggest buying them in advance .... many of the nights will sell out quickly and you won't be able to get them on the day ....
