Possibly. Obviously the coaster plans were drawn up for that site a long time ago, but don’t think anyone knows why the project didn’t go ahead - either due to budget or conservation constraints. Would be a great location for the next major ride!

It’s been very quiet on the SW9 front, it can’t be too long until we get at least a sniff of what could be coming or where. One thing I keep wondering is, could the park remove one of its ageing coasters to replace it with SW9 much like we saw with corkscrew in 2009/10 or are the coasters the park has no too synonymous with the park to be removed?

Personally I’d like to see the coaster option go from strength to strength with longer coasters like The Smiler as what the park has to offer at the moment are very much blink and done compared to other options in Europe and wider.

I feel like there's too much emphasis on the Secret Weapons as coasters and not enough being done for the smaller filler flat ride attractions. The park have gone through a period of removing flat rides and not actually replacing them with anything. I'd rather see what money was being budgeted for a new SW coaster and used instead for some highly themed flat rides for most (if not every) land(s). The park is becoming overun with rollercoasters, there's more to a Theme Park instead of just that. 

agree with that, crazy to think there is only two Flat rides worth going on for adults (Not including the fairground ones which will not last long at the park)

Yeah I mean the only coaters I'd even THINK about removing from the Park would be Rita and Spinball and realistically Spinball isn't going to gain us room for a decent coaster. Can't see Rita going either to be fair but if I had to pick one..

Very much agree with this! Going to Alton Towers is an intense day of rollercoasters, which I do not mind, however dark rides give great intermediates and will disperse queues.
