Maybe the ride will soft open on the 17th and on the 22nd will be some kind of promotional event/official opening.

MMM have posted this picture of the entrance on Instagram, I really don't like how the first thing you see as you enter the queue are two giant steel beams.

Aah, I was unaware of that.  So it's either a case of (1) letting the opening date leak by mistake, or (2) the "left hand does not know what the right hand is doing" - or - a mix of the two!
Would not be the first time Towers have cocked up... back in the days when Towers ran the games units themselves they had a "crack the safe to win £500" game near where N:ST now lies.  You had to guess the PIN number to open the safe & if it opened, you won £500.  It was won on the first day as someone had forgotten to change the PIN from the default one on the safe & a guest recognised the safe make/model from work & knew what the default was.  (Was not 1234 - but even so...!)

Yeah, that's interesting. I thought they had already been painted. By the looks of things, this image might not be from recently and was maybe taken a little while ago :)

Anybody know if the shop has it's own name like Buy The Smiler does?

I'd personally suggest "Beornen Bargains" :lol

I find it interesting that they have an event or something scheduled for the 22nd of March - honestly, I was (and still am) expecting it to open on Saturday the 17th. It may be a soft opening for a few days before a ceremony or anything such, but I think with how early the ride was finished they have no reason to keep it shut and maybe deter guests.

There is an official media launch scheduled for Friday 16th March as well.

@PatFenelonITV on Twitter has tweeted a short video from the area around Wicker Man, with what presumably is a snippet of the area soundtrack in the background.

Stay tuned to the TowersTimes social media channels for regular updates from this afternoons ‘Meet The Maker’ event.

Wow, the fire FX  look really good even in the day time.  I know its a bit gloomy in the vid, but still.
I like the decorations on the tunnels too, who doesn't like a bit of bunting.  Wonder if there are any SFX in the tunnel.... I'm sure i remember Alton saying that embers light up the track at some point or something.  Maybe i'm imagining it.

The 22nd is a trade familiarisation day I think :)
