Slagharen is a resort located in the Netherlands, close to the German border, consisting of an amusement park, water park and holiday park. It was acquired by Parques Reunidos (the group who also own Movie Park Germany, Park Warner Madrid and Mirabilandia to name but a few) back in 2012 after originally being family owned and run.
Slagharen has today announced the details of its new for 2017 rollercoaster, Gold Rush - the Netherlands' first triple launch coaster (although these launches are all on the same section of track).

The new roller coaster takes visitors back in time of gold fever. The story is based on the protagonist James W. Marshall found in California first gold in 1848. From all corners of the world come prospectors scour rivers and streams with simple techniques. The techniques improve and small towns grow into cities. For the transport of gold used new transportation methods, including the steam train. For this, an extensive rail network and station will be constructed.

Here's a summary of the statistics;
  • Type: Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster
  • Height: 31 metres
  • Length of track: 400 metres
  • Experience of the track: 620 metres
  • Inversions: 2
  • Speed: 90 km/h
  • Ride duration: 50-55 seconds
  • Trains: 1 train, for a total of 20 passengers
  • Capacity: 800 pph
You can see a video featuring rendered on-ride and off-ride perspectives here.

It certainly looks like a good-sized investment for the park, and perhaps this is Gerstlauer's answer to Premier Rides' Sky Rocket.

Interesting that this park and its sibling Movie Park opening similar rides by different manufacturers next year. Will be interesting to see how they compare.

It looks to be a very interesting ride. It definitely has a better layout compared to the many Sky Rocket IIs out there. Plus, it's also the first infinity coaster to have 5 cars per train!

Neat way of getting a interesting, satisfying ride out of a small footprint and track length, hopefully the 800pph capacity won't mean it has long, slow moving queues.

Vertical construction of Gold Rush has recently got underway with Slagharen posting the following photo on Facebook showing the installation of the first section of launch track.

The park have also posted photos of the front and back of the ride's train.

God I love Infinity coasters  This looks incredible, and I'm glad to see Gerstlauer branching into the 'triple launch' coaster style, so excited to see some other designs!

Slagharen have released a new construction photo, showing that things are progressing well, and (from what I can tell) confirmed in a press release that an opening date will be announced on March 20th.

Gold Rush's track was completed on 19th March, as show in these images from the park's website (the latter two photos were taken on 25th March). The opening date has also been announced as 13th April!

Goodness me they certainly don't hang about! It looks brilliant, can't wait to see how it rides. A 5 car launched Infinity is gonna look interesting.

Looopings have posted a video of Gold Rush's launch testing, although it appears it's yet to get up to the speed it needs to complete the course.

Looks like a fun ride from the video, although looks a tad short for what it is. Interesting choice of coaster type as it would have been great if they could make it two circuits.
