Saying it will be a over 100ft wooden coaster made by an US company.

The only roller coaster that is bigger in dimensions is in Europa Park in Germany.

Sounds like, if built, this coaster has the potential to be one of the best in the world. 62mph is pretty fast for a woodie if you ask me! Running Timberliner trains, this could be something quite spectacular. It will apparently also include inversions, if you believe what some of the local papers are saying.

I find it funny that Ireland has virtually no theme parks and now they are getting a coaster that most of us UK fans would dream of. Fingers crossed for the UK that wood will land on our soil soon.

Not much about the coaster! But there is also plans for a dark ride and a air race.
Really hope this goes well for the park, sounds like they really want to make it a much bigger park.

That's good news, I hope it is a success. My family live in Ireland, and the guy who owns the house and land next door also owns the Funtasia company, who operate what I think is the only thing similar to a theme park, in Bettystown, co Meath. It's an arcade with fairground rides on the roof, but in the 10 years since I went there, they've put a 70 foot drop tower on the roof and added some other rides.

All the plans and technical drawings have been put on the planning site. Follow the link above. Not looking a massive coaster but dose look like it will carry its speed. Think it will be worth a trip over in it first year.

The same park have got a new ride, a visa dance party called The rotator. Here's the video.

Looking like big things for them in the future!

Maybe we should rename the thread to Tayto Park?
Considering it's now more than just the wooden coaster.

Thanks for the update, it looks a good ride, goes on for a while. I agree someone should change the Name to Tayto Park. They are also getting a dark ride aswell, does any one know any info on this?

It's looking like it's going ahead still and they should have made a little pun with rotator and called it rotayto

Quick vid with park director :)

For people who don't have time to watch the video:
So Gravity Group are confirmed. It's planned to open in May/June 2015, with GG confirming they can get it open for then. Still no idea whether this will have inversions, I'm guessing from concept images that it won't, but who knows!
Air Race and plans for the dark ride has been sent off to the councils. They have several dark rides ideas, but haven't confirmed which one to go with yet.

Just a quick update on the new wooden coaster. A small problem, nothing too major but there is 'inspectors concern over the parks coaster'

See more below

Thoughts?

News on this has been quiet for a while, however Coasterforce are reporting that this will be opening this summer. As DannyG mentioned previously, Gravity Group are constructing the ride. The rollercoaster has been confirmed to not only be the largest inverted wooden coaster in Europe, but also the only one of it's kind in Europe. The largest drop will be 29 meters and the ride will reach a maximum height will reach of 32.05 meters.

As well as the rollercoaster seven other rides will be added to the park including an Air Race, Rotator, Sky Tower, Steam Train Track Ride, 5D Cinema, and Dinosaurs Alive attraction totaling a €26 million investment!
