They were definitely digging and building for entire of 2009..
Yes but trees had to be cut down, Corkscrew had to be taken down etc.

Also, I the ride's mechanism also had to be made and tested a lot- possibly making the built take longer. Putting up the track mustn't have taken long.

Not sure if you were replying to me there, but if so I don't see how I implied that their website was poor?
No I wasn't, there was a post in-between yours and mine but it seems to have disappeared  :?

I agree, but I think it's going to look much bigger after ground works, but only time will tell! (I'm going to get some photos in august, hopefuly some degree of site work will have started then.)
It's been a while.

yeah looking at that first pic it does look small.

i'm trying to imagine the station building etc on that site and i'm not seeing how everything will fit in. obviously they've done their measurements so i'm guessing it will haha

Way, way, way back some pics were posted on the site from above, comparing the site to that of oblivion, nemesis, air etc and it really is huge, just looks small from the angle. Bet you'd say the same about the others.

The site does look small in that photo but I can assure you that it is just that photo that makes it look small. The site is of a very substantial size and looks so much bigger now the tent has gone, I was shocked as to how big it does look.

The area on the plans was comparable in size to Nemesis'.

 I love the idea of "Construction Worker of the Week". Can we make it a regular feature please? (preferably with a TV Burp style jingle?)
Maybe at the end of the project we could vote for a winner?

^THIS!!

Anyway, the site is pretty large, at the ttf@10 behind the scenes you got a feel for the size of it from the back of the site...

if you are wondering how it's going to fit in, i refer you to my topic
http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/x-cite/boz's-sketchup-recreations/msg664871/#msg664871

the site is due for some major landscaping, which is really going to increase the size. don't forget the site includes the old black hole queue line at the top of the hill
(i know it's a shameless plug but i couldn't resist :))

I quickly mapped your render onto my photo. (note this was a real quick jobbie so its distorted and not quite right.
If you want to do it properly it was taken from the oblivion fast track line that goes behind the back of the building with the dumbells in.

Actually looking at that, I dont think there will be that much ground work apart from ripping up teh concrete and the footers and foundations. It seems to map reasonably onto the ground.

i'll get the angle for you shortly

on a separate note can anyone get me a few images of the queue line kiosk at the top of the hill, from several different angles. it looks like the right size and shape to fit the space on the plan. i don't like leaving an empty space on the model, so i will put that there until i know any differently.

edit: the relevant angle below. it's as close as i can get as the field of view differs between camera and sketchup.

Some old images from the No Limits model. Haven't access to my computer at the moment to get it in exactly the right position, but they're close enough.

And I bet they leave it in that state as well.
