Yep, there's only 8 visible inversions in the entire track, the two halves of the track seem to duel each other as opposed to there being two separate tracks.SwEDEN wrote: I think the person who posted it thought that since it would be 8 inversions per train and that there would be more than one train doing the circuit at the time that there would almost be two separate tracks each doing 8 inversions, adding up to 16 in total, but they were wrong

Sorry, but is it not possible to have storylines without things going "out of control"? It's just so corny and overdone.
Things are more interesting when you feel you are being watched and controlled by something you know little about, like Oblivion.

Haha, only just realised! Bloody copy cats! :Pmrbrightside wrote: I hope BigAl won't mind me borrowing his signature here but:

I wish!Longy wrote: That was close!
I think Al won the competition to be on the design board...
They wont fit 8 inversions inside, unless it's a small inversion repeated, or the world's first being the new inversion, which I've said before.
How does the DNA mean double helix by the way? I get the dueling part, but not this.

I have to admit, I'm extremely disappointed by the fencing around the ride. Just compare it to what was around Oblivion's construction site.
Ah, well, can't complain about everything. I really fail to see how a DNA-spiral automatically means a storyline, though.

It's my take on it.SwEDEN wrote: @ Longy where did you get that information?
It could be tweaked a bit.

Nice DNA Strand. I also agree that the Double helix is a hint at the Duelling nature of the ride.
What I didn’t expect is that they are actually advertising it as SW7. This is very unusual. Th13teen was never advertised on the park as SW6 and only occasionally referred to as such by the park. At the very least this suggests that like Oblivion the ride will be true to the Secret Weapon theme.

Yes, Oblivion's construction fencing was amazing. In a different league. But when you compare to the rest of the SW's....Joe Koopa wrote: I have to admit, I'm extremely disappointed by the fencing around the ride. Just compare it to what was around Oblivion's construction site.

A few measly posters on a wooden fence.

Another banner on a fence, with the word "fantabulous" :P
I don't even think Nemesis had any advertisements at all?

Regarding the fencing around the ride, remember... Alton are still getting their 2012 offering right so there will, I am sure, be more impressive visuals in summer. Give them a chance.
Re: IP's, I see no reason at all why a Secret Weapon project couldn't have one? Alton has no major marketable IP on a thrill ride so I wouldn't exactly be shocked if this coaster gets one. Saw worked wonders for Thorpe. I would say it has far more pulling power than any other ride at Thorpe! That said, I would rather it was a unique theme. Up against Oblivion though, one of the most iconic rides ever built, they haven't half got a job on their hands!
Great to see the ball is rolling!

I have no personal issue with IPs except for that they take up a lot of cost-and let's face it, I'd prefer to have all the cost of the £20m on the actual construction/demoliton/theming etc (ie, the ride itself) rather than paying £5m to a corporation for a few boards plastered over the site.
I'm not going to be upset about the fencing. It has literally just gone up. I assume it will get better as the months roll by!

The fencing graphics look awesome. I really don't see what everyone's problem is.

It hold promise that they may have tweaked the theming plans. Hopefully.NastyPasty wrote: The fencing is awesome.
Still just trying to come to terms with the fact that it's chrome. I expected grey, but anything remotely shiny will look absolutely stunning. This automatically makes up for the fact they're not retheming to 'Port Discovery'.
Wow.

It's incredibly exciting that it is being referred to as "SW7" right from the very start. It gives it a code name that will be mysterious to the GP and renowned to enthusiasts. Two letters and a number. It's surprisingly imposing.

Also, for those that may want the background as a desktop wallpaper or whatever...

Although chrome effect paintwork would look absolutely incredible, I'm not sure I can see them doing that given the cost. Is the track colour referenced with words in any of the planning documents?
At first I thought the track on the website image looked corny but if it is supposed to partially signal DNA, it is kind of cool I guess. Graphic design with Sub-Terra was a step down from Thirteen's though and I think this is also a lower standard.
I am looking forward to this project though, the first extreme rollercoaster at the park since the Tussuds era.
