If new effects are being added then there's a chance this could be good. I think its funny how some of the bad reviewers now seem to be angry that the ride might get better. There's nothing worse than not having something to complain about. Not riding it till Wednesday. If its crap, its crap, but I think these extra additions could really add to it.

Again, Haunted House and Hex. Exactly the same happened. Do you not feel confident about the old attractions?
As for the effects, this is the first i've heard of it. I don't think its effects they need - I think they need to sort out the ride itself, and sort out the storyline so people actually know what it is they're going to see/do.
The effects - if they do come, it's not instant. They haven't sorted out the leg ticklers/back pokers yet. They're top of the list before anything else. Don't expect any major changes for a good few weeks.

I didn't see any eggs in the cave, let alone rising eggs... I dont think the lights were on long enough to see anything...
And I get that the water was supposed to be his slobber, but there was too much, and it was constant. It should happen in little spurts, when it roars.
Another little change I'd to see, when it drops, leave everything in silent darkness for a bit, that'll put the sh!ts up a lot of people. Stop rushing everything....

This rock is the first thing you see when the doors to the lift open, if it is so fake that it immediately makes you think about it, then it's quite damaging to making people think they've travelled underground.
It think that you and I both have discerning tastes when it comes to artificial rock because I thought it looked very fake and "concrete-y". However I don't think it matters too much as no one else in my group seemed to think so and you're only in that tunnel for a few seconds before entering the core. I reckon it's the least of the ride's problems at the moment.
Also, to be honest I think the only parks I've been to that have fake rock that's anywhere near convincing are Disney and Europa. It seems to be a difficult art to master and is probably best avoided all together particularly if you're on a budget

But you seem to be in the minority with this opinion, infact most of the people who have spoke of it said it is very authentic, so it can't look that fake. I understand it's you're opinion if you think it does look fake but if the majority of people on this forum don't feel this way, considering we're more likely to notice this sort of thing, then I don't think this is going to be going through any of the general publics minds either, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

We were kept in the cavern section for a few minutes, perhaps due to some unusual activity within the vault
I accept that not everyone would notice it, but imagine if they noticed it because it looked SO realistic...
It's not exactly a big area to work on, so they could have spent more time on it. The Swarm's station looks more authentic, as does Thirteen's.
This topic is getting infuriating Of all the things wrong with this ride why on earth are we moaning about the rocks! As many of us are agreed the quality of the theme on this ride is at worst satisfactory and certainly not the real issue.
The real reason you don't feel like you have travelled along way underground is because the first lift does not feel like you are actually moving. The solution to this is simple: Give a small jolt to signify the start of the decent and another to make it feel like we've reached cave level. This is the type of constructive criticism that we need to be making because unlike the texture of the rocks it's something the ride should improve on.
Now I haven't been to the Blackpool Dungeons but could someone who has please tell me what the lift in that attraction is like. I was under the impression that the effect really does work on that lift. Is this true? If so this is definitely something the park should be improving on.

I think the water effect depends on where you sit. First time I was in the middle, and got soaked, but 2ns time I was at one end and it was much better.
Maybe the lights didn't work in the cave for you that time, as they're pretty big and you're there long enough to get a good look.
For those of you who believe all the rocks around forbidden valley are real, you may want to look at some of them a little more closely to see where the cement is starting to fall out of the moulded wire mesh.
