Nice, good to see some improvements being made at the hotels. Towers seem to have focussed a lot more work there of late than fixing up the park IMO - would be good if they shared the improvements (maybe they are).
Splash's new sign looks nice, finally puts the newer revision of the logo at the entrance (only about 4 years since they changed it!)

I agree, although the hotel needed a logo I think it would have looked better if they attached that sign to the water feature instead of the hotel as it covers up the window etc. and know longer looks like a hotel etc...SpinballEdders wrote: WOW the refurb dragon bar looks amazing but im not sure about the new splash landings sign though
The Dragon Bar sign looks like a cheap takeaway, but inside it looks fantastic.
I like the Splash sign, but it would probably have been better off on the water feature rather than the hotel itself.

Fantastic stuff from the hotels! This is exactly what should happen at a premier theme park resort!
However, I thought it was "Dragon Bar" not "Dragons Bar".

Yes, it was the "Dragon Bar" and in my opinion that sounds better than "Dragons Bar"AstroDan wrote: Fantastic stuff from the hotels! This is exactly what should happen at a premier theme park resort!

Hopefully because it's only a plastic sign it could be changed?

It's all looking fantastic... apart from the "Dragons Bar" sign. It looks awfully cheap.
I do really applaud the hotels a lot, they really do so much work year-on-year to keep them up to a very high standard. I've noticed each year how some rooms and corridors have also had a bit of work done. Great stuff, keep it up Alton!

I agree. The bathrooms in ATH are hideousely plain. Also, on my last visit, there were a load of dead flies above the wash baisin inside the lights. Also, the sink was all cracked and the shower leaked!Blaze wrote: Just need to sort out the ATH bathrooms and they'll be onto a winner.
Apart from that, though - well done!

Oh dear.
More so called 'improvements' which aren't at all.
The Dragon Bar looks awful - its not meant to be contemporary. The hotel has a colonial theme.
Hopefully the ship repaint will be good.

So they can't make it look modern at the same time as Oriental? It's a classy, modern take on the sort of clichéd look of Chinese restaurants. I think it works rather well.
The bar has always had a Oriental feel to it. But now, it's contemporary whilst maintaining the feel of the bar which was there previously.CoasterCrazyChris wrote: Oh dear.

Looks rather nice to be honest. The sign is a tad cheap, but seen much worse and it does the job. Overall Im impressed.
i would guess the sign is temporary, as it looks very cheap and doesnt even have the correct name on it.
Also I thought the folding doors have always been there, just never used.
I do like the dragon bar, its pretty. I mentioned this in another thread but in the past 18 months the hotels have really had alot of effort put into them and its showing.
