[quote=""screamscape""]LONDON DUNGEON (UK) - Extremis: Drop Ride To Doom - (3/15/07) The London Dungeon (Merlin Entertainment) has announced that they will add a new “drop ride” in 2007. In the ultimate bit of themeing you will be strapped into a unique ride system (rumored to be from ABC Rides) themed like a gallows by a “hangman” who will then slowly winch you to the before dropping you to your doom. sounds awesome!

Heard this a while back...

I doubt this will be that big. It's not going to be huge. If anyone has been to the Hamburg Dungeon, I've not, but I think it'll be like that lift thing as I doubt that will be big either.

If they get this in Edinburgh like next year I will be glad. Even though that'll never happen :(

Ooooh, this sounds cool!

Like someone has said above, could be a kinda small scale UK Tower or Terror.

Very interesting! :)

I reckon it'll be an Intamin Bungee Drop, seems to be the best solution for a small indoor drop ride.

Edit, here is the artwork:

Nice! I hope there's multi ones, cos if it's 5 a time, it's going to take forever to get past it.

It won't be tall cos it's a pretty big age range for the Dungeons.

They should like make the restraints look like rope and have a rope coming from the roof to each one, so the restraints are like the nooses.

Bungee? As in up, down, up down? Nah, if you're getting hanged that doesn't happen does it?

Will be good all the same.

It's not a real bungee, check the Intamin website to see what it is.

Yeah I know, I can see that from the artwork.

I know what you mean, but i mean like bouncing up and down the tower. Not just up then straight down. No bounce.

It has been revealed that the height of Extremis will be 20ft.
Not very high, but it'll provide a thrill and I presume all this will happen in near pitch black lighting.

Considering Detonator is 115ft and Hurakan Condor is 330ft, then yes. But considering is bang smack under ground, in the middle of London, with a tube station underneath then its okay I suppose.
Edit - 20ft is the height of the Flying Fish
evil cod

Trauma Tower at Lightwater Valley is 29ft,

as is
Fruit Shoot at Blackpool

So its 9ft shorter than those? oh dear

Although its short it's got to aim at families and appeal for all ages. But still 20ft! Hardly gonna add any thrill!

If this is true, the ride itself will not be able to gain any speed before the brakes kick in and knowing The London Dungons you'll only get one drop and thats it.

I know it must be hard for them as they are in the centre of London but im sure something bigger could fit in there.

Incase anyone was wondering where I got the info from:
Here they will be slowly winched up to the ceiling of the famous Dungeon arches and dangle 20 feet above the ground before their execution is finalised and they plummet straight to the ground.

How can you "plummet" 20ft. I've been on a slide taller than that!!

yeh but if you think about it the ride will be themed to the max so in theory any drop even if it is little will scare you to death.
Think about twister at universal studios, it drops you, what half a foot if that and that certainly scares you. I suppose you dont really know its there but all the same.
I personally think they will use this to its max. Therfore they will load you from the top where your sentance begins buidling up the tention and then dropping you down to where you will be unloaded.
It has the posibility to be a highly themed and scary ride. Does anyone know where there themeing comes from?? is it stilll the studios like alton towers???

London Dungeons isn't operated by Tussauds. They probably have an external company to do the themeing.
