Got an idea of how the Alton Towers Resort may develop over the coming seasons? Discuss it here.

surprised it hasnt been mentioned but when i was at alton on the 21st/22nd there was a fair sized hole outside of the rita enterance
on the 21st-hole with barriers around

on the 22nd-hole with rita test seat sat in it with the left OTSR and the lap bar.
i know air has one and i can see why, but rita i cant see why it needs one.

will we start to see this more often with other new rides or just the ones which people may have problems fitting into.

will

Speaking of test seats.

There is one for G-Force which actually locks and you need to press a release button to get out.
So me being myself sat in it, saw the "You will fit" light turn on, then pressed the release button......

Nothing. It stayed locked.

Heart beats a bit faster.... as it does in this kind of situation.

Come back next week to find out if I ever made it out ;)

its normally a feature of american parks where a signifficant proportion of guests are to fat to get into the seats.

nope...sorry
one difference that i remember is that the back of the head rest is bright green unlike on the other trains

Im not sure but just recently we have had loads of large guests on purposely joining the queue knowing that if they dont fit they will be given an exit pass to another ride. So with this in mind, could towers be coming up with a way to reduce problems tring to load large guests in the station which slows us down, guest embaressment and people trying to get exit passes?????

I went last wednesday and a large couple went onto Rita but the man couldnt fit, so they were given a bit of paper, a voucher I guess and they had to leave. now I dont think they queued up for 50 mins and paced public embarassment just for an exit ticket. I felt right sorry for them

now that pic does show how odd rita seats look without the train.
*off topic* why did they put OTSR on rita? spoils it i think.
anyways im liking the fact that we are now copyin the american parks and gettin these test seats cos it does cut down problems.

Well you had a choice Intamins killer lap bars or Intamins safe and still very open and comfortable OSTR's, which I find no different to lap bars anyway.

I think that test seats are pretty crap actually if your the right height and havent got the weighst-line of a jumbo-jet you will be just fine.

Well what about the people that aren't a perfect shape Liam??

That's the whole point of the test seats. I can only just fit into Spinball because I am boarderlining 6ft3" and all through the queue I was worried that I might not fit in the seats so I would have really appreciated a tester seat.

There should be like an overhead extention system to slide the restraints safely and securely back and forth, up and down to fit anyone.

I hope that you follow me. lol.

And i hope that no-one missread my last comment sorry guys but i wasnt trying to insult anyone ( ive got nothing against overweight or tall people,) i never thought about height aswell as width for fitting in the restraints.
