Ah, THERE'S the education segment San Diego demand Sea World to have on every attraction...
Looks good...

My word, looks like a hellish job to stitch all those projections togetherSam wrote:

Looks amazing - really looking forward to seeing info on this when complete.

You mean the Mack Megacoaster train? I assume its missing a front plate of some sort. Will probably be added at a later date.

How is that true when the park's Journey to Atlantis is 95" while Manta is only 30"? I doubt the height restrictions have changed that much in 8 years...Adz wrote:Mostly due to height restrictions, this new Manta is at the parks maximum allowed height limit.

I'm really impressed with this coaster! It's the perfect theme for a Mack launched coaster as the trains glide and swoop over the track, much like I imagine a Manta would do in the ocean.

It's not been assembled yet for testing purposes. Assuming this is the same cart from the picture below it would have been taken apart when it left the Expo and the front shell is awaiting the first few tests before being put back on.
When they first tested Blue Fire it didn't even have the seats installed.

There's plenty of stuff online about the absolute hell the park went through to get that ride installed. Some of it makes The Ropers seem like a friendly bunch! Suffice to say any ride since has had severe restrictions.Sam wrote:How is that true when the park's Journey to Atlantis is 95" while Manta is only 30"? Not strictly relevant but...
Awesome! Wish more parks would do stuff like this!SeaWorld wrote:SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment - (4/26/12) SeaWorld Parks & Enterainment has announced that over the next year the company will eliminate the use of plastic shopping bags at all 10 of their parks. Guests making purchases will be offered paper bags made from 100% recycled paper, or given the option of purchasing a reusable bag. SeaWorld Parks estimates that this will keep 4 million plastic bags from entering landfills each year.
Guests to SeaWorld San Diego have already experienced this since mid-2011 as the park already made the switch with the opening of their Turtle Reef attraction. SeaWorld Orlando will make the switch this month to go hand-in-hand with the opening of their new Turtle Trek attraction on April 27th.

That coaster looks amazing and the trains are probably my favorite of any coaster in the world.
And I'd love it if chessie got one of these. Sadly I doubt it.

But where would Chessie build such a coaster? The nimby's around the park would just complain about the amount of fun and happiness that such a ride would generate.
The land currently occupied my Toady's Crazy Cars could fit one in. And with a launch, there would be no need for it to be high. It's in the middle of the park so noise shouldn't be an issue.
I've always thought a high speed trench-running coaster could work at Chessie, and a Mack would be perfect.
