I'd like "helper tools".

So say you are building a lift hill. Place your bottom piece of lift hill, then place you last piece at the top level. Then simply click "fill with lift hill pieces between". Voila, you have a lift hill between the two markers at whatever angle it needs to be.

Same with most of the track, you essentially draw the path you want your coaster to travel. It can still work in "blocks", but the track between is flexible. You could even have flexible inversions.

Likewise, for building paths. I want it to "start here", "finish here", this type. It then generates the path between. It the land is too jagged or steep, it forms the land correctly for you, or automatically adds steps.

And for buildings. A simple system of "standard building, 20 blocks wide, 10 blocks deep, five blocks high - painted in "castle".

You could still modify individual blocks if needed, but it would be nice if the game could create them. You could also do something similar for circular buildings. "Create a round building that occupies a 12x12 block area, six blocks high". Then "create a domed roof that occupies a 13x13 block area" and you put the domed roof on top yourself (with some overlap to look good).

There's so much more as well, but I think "building flexibility" is really for me, the key upgrade they should go for, and it's something both PC's and a modern gaming engine could cope with today.

Maybe it's just the Lego geek in me, but I like stacking hundreds of walls and things together. It allows for flexibility. I think the current system is fine, it just needs 45' rotation steps.

Just thought! PROPER stations! you know like the ones in No Limits with gates and crap! Not like the silly amusement park entrances they have now!

I think what would be good if you could connect to the internet like sims 3 so when a new roller coaster (real roller coaster) is created they can make it, and you can download it off the internet, it would also be good if you can build proper shops and sandbox land is unlimited (ou buy what you want).

I didn't mean ditch it completely, but have there as well. It's the flexibility of both things. A true architect would still build by hand, but sometimes it would be nice to just knock something up quickly. Floors to buildings would be nice too. So when you place it down, it flattens the ground it goes on (only if you build floors in) so that your building is always on a level ground.

They absolutely need 45 degree angles, and curves, and the ability to mix paths and scenery though. How many times do you need a fence between two path pieces?

They need a "real time" system for the coasters. The simple "Scalextrix" set piece system just looks awful in 3D and is too inflexible for creating good looking coasters. You sometimes (actually, often) need more than flat, shallow angle and steep angle pieces. How many times have you struggled to line up a coaster layout just because you're one square short of being able to go "shallow angle to steep angle". It would be nice if it could just go "here's the middling angle you need". Also trying to get banked curves. It looks awful at times if you twist the track - would be nice with a system that can automatically smooth things out.

I hate how the queue lengths/number of people in the park are always so un-realistic alogn with building etc.

Pretty much what everyone else has already said :P

Really hope they go through with making a 4th.
If you go down to the Towers today, you\'d better ride Th13teen. :P

I like sound of what a lot of you guys are saying, my biggest bug about the game is the unrealistic supports for the coasters and the time it takes to us th CS to make them more realistic.

I would like the coasters to have smoother transitions and more felxibility.

It would be cool if they made a website to download new ride types when released in the real world. I think they should have this option for RCT3 to run along with RCT4 if it is made. I dont think my computer will be ble to handle a game more powerful than RCT3

Sounds good tho.

My RCT4 wish list:

1. Create your own character and use them to explore your own parks and other players parks too. Have a Sims style creator so that you have more flexibility when making a character/group.

2. More Backgrounds as well as the chance to use your own images as backgrounds. There aren't enough options in RCT3 so this should be something looked into.

3. Make your own PR Stunts and adverts! I needn't say more!
4. Automatic Terrain Generator. I find it takes too long to create realistic terrain. Something similar to No Limits. You can just have sliders to specify how many trees you want, how much water there is, how hilly/mountainous you want it, etc...

5. Be able to use selected areas of terrain from Google Earth. You could spend hours modelling a real place when someone has already done it (more or less).

6. More realistic looking textures. Everything in RCT3 looked plastic and fake so some more realism would be nice.

7. Intensity levels for flat rides.
8. Unrestricted lift/launch speeds.
9. Car park generator. Select and area of land and a route to and from it and it is flattened appropriately and spaces are created so that peeps can come and park on there.

10. Let scenery items intersect so things looks more realistic.
11. More scenery items.
12. More expansion packs.
13. A community store like the one for Sims 3 so you can buy new items and share your creations.
14. More colours for rides and scenery. The choices in RCT3 are too limited.
15. Switch tracks.
16. Coaster lifts (Th13teen free fall style or a simple lift)
17. Combine tracks.
18. Switch cars between tracks.
19. More elements.
20. More pre made firework/laser displays. I find it difficult to make a decent display.
21. A cheat which lets you specify how much money you want rather than the John D Rockefeller = £10,000 cheat (I'm not really fussed but at least give more money than £10,000).

22. Track sections which are able to turn. For example: The train goes along the track, gets to the end, the track section stops it, spins it around and sends it back the other way or off down a different part of the ride.

23. More themed and realistic ride cars.
24. Less fair ground and more generic flat rides.
25. More effects. For example: Going into a tunnel makes the track less visible, more smoke, snow, molten rock, rivers of blood (you know what I mean), different coloured water, etc...

26. More speech options for peeps as the ones in RCT3 go around repeating themselves too often.
27. More realistic shops where peeps can browse, pick something up and take it to the checkout.
28. Taller trees.
29. Ride photo stalls.
30. A noticeable difference between dry people and wet people who've just come of a water ride. Being wet can affect their mood (some are happy and laugh and some are upset and grunpy, etc...).

31. Deal with locals. Do they like the noise/ride levels? Too much traffic? Not enough free passes?
32. Annual passes so that some peeps return.
33. Realistic amounts of money. I know it's more difficult for youngsters when you deal with larger amounts of money but perhaps this is a way of teaching them.

34. Loading screen features. I get bored waiting for my parks to load so why not have hints and tips? Videos of other peoples rides (pov's and off ride's) and parks.

35. Picnic areas.
36. Realistic splashes and the ability for coasters to make splashes (like Sheikra, etc...).
37. More weather and natural disasters/phenomenon.
38. Some peeps actually need to use first aid.
39. More shows.
40. More celebrities with funny names.

Sorry I've gone a bit OTT with the requests but I'm just a little bit excited about the prospect of RCT4! We've waited a long time for it and I hope everything works out and RCT4 becomes a reality.

You've made some good points BigAl because I think quite a few of them are easy to implement without changing the successful game model.

This one gave me an idea:
20. More pre made firework/laser displays. I find it difficult to make a decent display.
Add to that the ability to test fireworks while the game is in pause. I'm sure some of you have tried making firework displays and suddenly found 5/6 in-game years have passed.

Oh tell me about it. Making fireworks displays is a nightmare. I try making mine in a blank Scenario (scenario editor) but it's hard when you're trying to make it for an existing park as the terrain is different.

Hold on, here are a few more things that I'd like to see:

1. News reporters which arrive when new rides are being built, new rides are opened and your park holds an event. You can then pause and take a look at what the media thinks. Perhaps give players the option of going into your park to report and review things? Something simple though.

2. More ride events (flames, strobes, water jets, monsters, robots, buildings, etc...).
3. Start dates (1980, 1975, etc...) for each scenario and slower game play with seasons. Time passes far too quickly and in reality, some parks don't stay open all year round.

4. Guest accommodation.
5. Realistic ride stations (or none and allow the player to build their own)
6. Sponsors (real or pretend) for your park and rides for extra income.
7. Have a better video recorder which records in a better quality and records the sound too.
8. Blend day and night more gradually.
9. Stop light and rain passing through scenery.
10. Realistic crashes but no blood and guts. But no bouncing wreckage and peeps either.
11. Old people. There isn't any old people in RCT3 but they do visit theme parks.
12. More scenarios based on real parks
13. Different coloured lights.
14. Catwalks for lift hills and brake runs and launch sections (but optional for each track piece).
15. Realistic preset supports and the ability to turn them off (per ride) and build your own.
16. More preset music which isn't cheesey.
17. The ability to own and run more than one park (once you can afford it) to become a true Tycoon.
18. Guests actually queue for rides instead of walking straight past the ride entrance.
19. Guests don't mind waiting slightly longer for queues.
20. Rewards for greater capacity rides.
21. Rides released to use in correct time (e.g no Eurofighters in 1978, etc...).
22. More animals (petting zoo animals too).
23. Better aquariums and insect houses.
24. Facts given on loading screens (forgot to mention this in my other list). Giving facts about the theme park industry, rides, parks, etc... would teach people (informative) and help prevent boredom during long waits.

25. Rock tool. My idea of using a spray can style tool to spray rocks onto the terrain surface. It's a simple, fast and it could create a more realistic look.

26. Trees can fall over and damage/destroy things, as well as block routes.
27. Flowing water (if the source is from a water fall or parts of the water body flow outside your park area). Wave machines can be installed (CS).

28. More fountains. Peeps could interact with them as well (splash or throw a penny in, etc...).
29. Steeper lift hills and drops (steeper than 90 degrees for drops).
30. A new big and small corkscrew element which allows you to create a corkscrew similar to Alton's, etc...

31. Guests don't complain about a lack of rides (hey, we aren't all made of money).
32. Some guests misbehave (a slider in scenario editor allows you to control how often this happens) so the park actually needs security guards.

33. CCTV.
34. 'Your Day' style system. Nothing fancy, just a way to earn extra money (wristbands collected and then peeps spend a random amount of money at the end).

35. Better Skyride.
36. Theme park vouchers/offers option to attract more peeps.
37. The ability to build your own park entrance.
38. Ride aging. Paint wears off rails and parts begin to rust. You can pay to have them restored.
39. Litter is random (the odd drinks can or crisps packet, etc...).
40. (This one's my own random one that I thought I'd throw in just for fun) Zombie apocalypse. A cheat which turns half of the park into zombies to cause chaos. Unlikely to happen but it'd be funny if something similar was done :P

A ride simulator would be good to give you the option be in complete control of the rides
Also a button which can close the queue rather than the actual ride
Updated rides with more realistic options.

Basically most of what BigAl said! ^

I really hope that this happens- I love RCT and it's still popular ( with reguards to people still playing it). The games future looked dull a few years ago so lets hope that this is a turning point!

I wouldn't mind more realistic sfx as well. The chain lift sound is awful and the noise the coasters make whilst travelling along is too. It'd be better if the lift hill sound on the wooden coaster was rackety and the steel lifts where quieter and more mechanical. The corkscrew lift hill should have that classic Vekoma wining hydraulic sound like the Alton one had (hey, it sound cool). I also hate the way the peeps talk as when there's a lot of them, because there are only a few different style voice effects, the voices merge and it sounds weird (I'm not describing it well am I  ). Don't forget the splashing and water sound effects, they need varying a bit as well.
DiogoJ42

The thing is, whatever they do, it'll be cr@p. We'll have to wait a few months for people to start making custom scenery again to make the new game worth playing.

And when it comes down to it, I have a hell of a lot invested in RCT3. It's going to take something bloody spectacular to convince me to ditch it for a new game, and start from scratch with a vastly reduced pallet of scenery. Unless they can make it backwards compatable with CSOs / CFRs etc from the current game, I'll be very reluctant to upgrade.
Blaze

I'm sure it will be backwards compatible, and I 'm sure there will be a lot more scenery and rides and such available from the off.

Atari tried to make all of the RCT games backwards compatible (to an extent). It will be an awful game until people put in as much time into it as they did with RCT3. If everyone thinks like that and doesn't get it then it'll never be as good (unless it's released and it's better already). We need to think positively at the thought of a new RCT game which is long overdue. If we take the game and do what we did with RCT3 then I see no reason why it can't be just as good or even better.
DiogoJ42

With previous games, you could import old tracks, but not scenery. Considering Atari have never officially supported all the custom doodads, I find it unlikely that they will let you transfer them.

Then we'll make more. I'm learning to make stuff (so far what I've made sucks :sadblink: ) and there are loads of people out there who already can. Perhaps Atari will be a little kinder and tell people the codes so we have a head start at making things. Who knows, maybe they'll build a new feature which allows you to import your own creations. We may not even get a game though! Only time will tell us.

Well... How about requesting a texture editor? That way at least people will be able to create their own basic walls and paths and things? Would be easy enough for most people to handle.

Then an official 3D Studio importer system for custom imports? I know some games (Carmageddon 2 for instance) have had official support on importing new models. They encouraged it, as it extended the life of the game significantly.

Now's the chance to ask! :)
