Thanks guys :)

The fade at 1.00 is due to me filming the indoor part in the dark to get the lights and the out door bit during the day :)
Ah I see

I like your area Matt, but I do question whether that is a family coaster. The launch straight onto the bunnyhop makes it seem like it could a little bit too intense. I really like the themeing and stuff too.

I like all the areas posted so far! The roller coasters are good and the theming alone is good enough to get through to round 2! The excitement, intensity and nausea ratings are a bit high on Mattbaily's, though. If I was younger I would be very scared to ride. I'm, glad I entered this competition - it's very fun!

I chopped and changed the start of the ride to allow for the "large" drop, and ended up changing a few bits after building the whole course, for example added separate load / offload stations and a couple of extra block breaks.

The net effect, was somehow the track didn't line up, so the little bunny hop was added to compensate, rather than altering all track and theming back to the brake run....

Also, this will sound like I'm making an excuse, but on RCT3 it looked like the coaster was going at a mediocre pace, and I had no idea it was so fast as such, until the pov was recorded.

The ratings are high due to the speed I guess + the random bunny hop.

There are a couple of tweaks I'd make in hindsight, but tbh I don't have the time to make it 100% realistic, and also I don't have the patience to record another POV :P

I liked your area a lot mattbailey, the coaster reminded me a lot of coasters like pony express at Knott's Berry Farm, great job, however the rest of the area looks a little bland. :|
But the coaster makes up for that, well done.

Hey I am osrry but I am going to have to post my entree in picture format as I am about to go to turkey in less then a hout and I wanted to get this in.

I have chosen a Adventure type area with lots of jungley plants. The rollercoaster goes to a height of 30ft and is way below tree line and is great for alot of familys! Although a little slow. There are 2 flat rides, A Flying carpet ride and a rocking tug ride. There is also a fast food restraunt opposing the rocking tug! Took me 2 days to do hope you like it, Ryan.

Mines going to be themed around a science lab.

I haven't finished the family coaster, but I remade Spinball with a slightly different track, and itt is now called Hazard.
Confirmed \'09:

Alton Towers, April 7th
Thorpe Park, Summer
Alton Towers, Scarefest

Unconfirmed \'09:

Wicksteed Park (D:)
Chessington, WoA
[Archive]

Will there be only six people going through? I'm just wondering.

I have a feeling not all the competitors will have their entries in by the deadline and we've only got five at the moment.

I'll have mine. I've got a pipeline coaster in the works, flats'll be up in no time, and scenery and landscaping won't be hard.

Well give them a chance, they still have a week and a half to enter their areas.

I seriously think you should extend the deadline, it's part of the reason why my former competition was such a flop really. :)

We will see how it goes, as other people who have entry's in the competition already will get annoyed if I change the deadline and they have to keep waiting for the judging to start, the problems start when the deadline becomes a "could we have one more week" kind of thing etc... So the deadline will be kept the same and I will if necessary remind people through PM. :)

Unless you can take the three photos I have already put up as an entry, I will have to pull out. RCT3 totally and utterly uninstalled itself, and I have lost the park file. I'll enter the next competition though, it all reinstalled fine =]

^Is there no chance of you just making a quick area so you could attempt to get into the second round. It would be a shame to loose a contestant this early on. :) There is still a week before the deadline.

Neptunes Reach

Image

Feel the dust under your feet as you are transported across the galaxy to parts previously unknown! Take shelter in the space stations safe walls as you watch rocket ships arrive and depart with new found beings. Take a trip under the powdered surface to the secret museum filled with previous finds and unusual artifacts. Try your hand at driving across the white desserts in the space hopper ride and finally take a tour of the twisting landscape on the Space Race family coaster.
Spinball and the Beastie had to make way for this massive expansion, the staff access road has been re- routed but the Hospitality suite remains in place.

See the Promo Video Here. (I'll upload a higher quality version soon)

Screenies.

Very nice area, Crofty. :)

Your theming is good, but there might be way too many lift hills in your roller coaster. I think the way you grouped your rides together with bits of scenery between them was a good idea and made it look like the surface of Mars!

Crofty

Yeah, I needed the amount of lift hills purely due to the the hight restrictions, it wouldn't be that bad IRL as it would add to the throughput :P
