Get to the parks for opening and hit the main rides first. Ideally you will be at the gates at least 15 mins before opening.

Allow plenty of time to get to MK it is a long way from the car park.

Hollywood Studios is best done in the morning, by the afternoon most of the Fast Pass tickets have gone (for the main rides) and the queues are long. MK is a good park at any time of the day, Space Mountain Fast Pass goes quite quick.

Keep an eye out for people passing on unused Fast Passes to people waiting in the queue as we got several from families who either didn't want to ride any more or who were heading home for the day.
Alton Towers, Animal Kingdom (WDW), Blizard Beach (WDW), Chessington World of Adventures, Epcot (WDW), Hollywood Studios (WDW), Legoland, Magic Kingdom (WDW), PortAventura, Seaworld (Orlando), Thorpe Park, Typhoon Lagoon (WDW), Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure

This is very, very useful when deciding which park to visit on which day if you're willing to put time into studying it beforehand, and planning an itinerary.

Pick up fastpasses early in the day for popular rides such as Toy Story Mania (at Hollywood Studios).
Don't dismiss ANYTHING as being too childish, some of the best experiences at WDW are the family attractions.
Eat! we had the Disney Dining Plan so meals were inclusive so less cost worries but the best restaurants in Florida are at WDW hotels & parks so there are plenty of nice things to try, particularly at Epcot.
Take your time at the Animal Kingdom, I spent at least 15 minutes just watching the gorillas on the forest trail, its not all about the rides!
Watch Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot (easy to get a good view anywhere around the lake, but we like the balcony outside the Japanese restaurant) and Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios (go for the 10pm show if there is one, its less crowded and you get shorter queues for other attractions while people watch the first show!).
Interact with the characters, we once has a green army man (from Toy Story) give us directions on our park map!

Hope these help!
