Been to an attraction recently? Planning a trip? Tell us about it here or get some hints and tips for your next visit.

There was so much in the boardroom, Haunted House construction, Oblivion Construction, Charlie opening, Press cutouts dating back years and years! It was too much to take in. . . . . .and the sandwiches and crisps too  Martin seemed more interested in them!
Good pics Nick, thanks for uploading. I've got a question. Were most of the people on the tour from sites such as this, or were there a load of people who just seemed to stumble across the phone number/information about the tours somewhere else?

How the hell am i going to get to the top of the flag tower? I'm s**t scared of heights.
 you seemed ok that time i was chatting to you on the swinger, did u get the footage u wanted anyway? :)

On a brighter note, not sure if it is been mentioned, but on oblivion, we were told that the oblivion signs will be on the front of the cars as of next year! That may lead to a major clean up of oblivion I hope. Although it doesnt seem too bad.

Hello all,
I was lucky enough to go on this tour too with a couple of friends. I'm not from a site or anything (in fact this is my first post on a theme park site ever), just happened to see the "Behind the scenes" link on the official site a few months back.
I've always been interested in the way rides work and have to say it was well worth the £60. Excellant job by all the staff, I think it was the personal touch that made the difference such as adjusting the tour a bit to do what people wanted (the black hole ;)).

I have 180 odd pictures myself but I think most of them will be similar to the ones already posted, if I spot any really good ones I'll post them up for you all.

Yeah, i'm fine when i'm strapped into something. It's just when my body is free to move and stuff. Maybe it's because i subconsciously think that my body is going to go into spasm and jump over a wall from a great height, or even fall backwards down 200 steps. I don't know to be honest.

As for that footage i wanted, i did get it. Not perfect though. Maybe i'll have to try again, it's good fun anyway.
Nick

Well your body is hardly able to move when going up in the Flag Tower, the steps aren't even 2ft wide I dont think! Lots of transmission equipment on the top for the phone companies and the parks radio comms. I'm glad they got turned down permission to install more!

Not long got back from todays behind the scenes tour (22/7).

Not going to post much now, been a long day, up since 5 so i'm shattered.

great day though, despite the downpour in the afternoon, and the thunder n lightning.

Highlights Includer going up top of flag tower, christ I was knackered by the time I got to the top.

Rita winch room, Hex control room seeing how the ride works. Oblivion workshop.

Going to top of air lift hill, though I wish I hadnt looked down between the steps about 2/3rd's of the way up.

Priority rides on Rita, Oblivion, Hex, plus priority ride tickets for Oblivion, Nemesis, Flume, Air, Charlie & Spinball.

Edit.forgot to add, going around the Black hole, only the spiral, and a couple of other pieces of track remain now, station has more or less gone, control cabin is still there. Suprised to see how close the track comes to the control cabin, almost touches it.

Too much else to go in to much detail at the moment. Got plenty of photos, im going to check how they turned out, and get round to posting them sometimes tomorrow if they arnt to rubbish. Not many from top of air lift hill though, I had a rather unsteady hand by that point for some reason :?

Park was busy today, even Rapids queue was out of the queueline, at the 70 minute point sign, though info signs were stating 20 all day. Flume was over 90 minutes at one point, nemesis was on extended queue line as well. So the priority passes were a godsend, 2 goes on back row nemmy as well. :)

No downers really, except that right hand lift on Charlie, the floor wasnt working, so made for a rather dull ride, though the boat ride is an improvement on my previous experience.

Big thanks to all those involved in making a great day.

Hello,
Jsut got back like nightsin2dreams. Had a great day. Really enjoyed walking the duel track and was very interesting to hear how complex the blaster system is and how every LED sensor is networked back to a main computer. The board room was rather interesting but they wouldn't let any of use bring the mini oopmpa loompa home :( The flasg tower was great for views except my legs didn't think much of it. Great to see the Bucket and Spade event kick off in a thunderstorm. The priority passes were great and came in extremely useful! One of charlie's lift floors wasn;t workng so we had a very smotth elevator ride! Fluem duck was working - for once :D. Was great going in black hole tent, amazing to see how big it really is in there. Overall had a great day and met soem great new people.

Thanks to everyone who made it a excellent and informative event.

Neil

Basically I stole my friends shoe and threw it on the floor. It landed near the driving school construction fence and another mate of mine said "it would have been funny if it had landed under", so then I kicked it under expecting to be able to bend down and grab it. However, I'd kicked it to far, and as I was waiting for construction workers to return from their break so they could pass it under, James turned up, and made what he hadn't seen up :P

Regards,
Mark
