I never said or think it will ruin the reputation of Nemesis it is too much of an Icon to do that.
They used the Nemesis name for the thorpe coaster only so people could identify with the coaster type, which I feel was not a valid enough reason to then have another name association with a ride that has no actual links to the orginal and of which is one of the most famous coasters in the world...

Then as i backed it up I have no problem using the name for this attraction as long as the backstory and themeing fit rather than going off on a tangent or them just use the name as a marketing tool..

The whole point of my post was to show some support for a persons opinion after reading there post carefully.

It was not my intention for it to seem like i did not support the current concept..

Oblivion has low queues due to having the best throughput of any coaster in the UK.

It can achieve 500 per hour more than Nemesis, when pushed, and 600 more than Air.

All true.

However it used to have much longer queues a few years ago. So I think its fair to say as well as having tremendous throughput, the queues aren't as big because the area just doesn't attract as many punters as it once did. Mainly down to Black hole going, Submission being poor and the rather old enterprise.

But that's just my opinion.

Yes, Oblivion's capacity is huge (1900pph?) but I still think X-Sector needs to be tidied up and for something new to be installed there very soon. Look at the two flats that go with it. Something new would do wonders for that area and maybe force Merlin to spend money on adding more theming and cleaning up the existing bits. I think X-Sector is quite shoddy now, compared to what it used to be like.

Is it just me or would anyone like to see a bigger version of that map to look at it properly on the website?
I really doubt the ride will be called Nemesis: What Lies Beneath? as it sounds too much like Terror Of The Towers back when it was What Lies within. It will be teaser like Surrender for TH13TEEN.

Exactly my point.

Submission is not only a horrid ride, it doesn't even fully work. How long has it been just 1 arm now? There are plenty of similar types of ride all over thee UK that would be better in submissions place. The trouble is, nobody would buy submission would they?

Enterprise is a classic and should stay though, systems permitting.

I think more people might be tempted onto Submission if both arms worked. It looked really cool when they both worked. I'd love to see a KMG Move It installed somewhere so maybe in X-Sector if one of the existing rides needs to be replaced.

I doubt more people would go on Submission if both sides operated. I don't see it making a difference. Most guests by bow know it's a joke.

I disagree. Submission running with both arms working is really cool visually. If something looks good then people will be more attracted to it. If something is clean and looks new or is well themed people are more likely to go on it compared to the one that looks a mess.

It is all about the position of the ride the state that it is in.

:)

Exactly! It did look much more impressive with two arms working than it does now. It might persuade people to give it another chance. If not then they should just sell it to someone like Camelot. They could probably do with another flat ride looking at the state Excalibur is in at the moment. How much would Submission sell for? There are loads of new flats out there that could replace it. Another possibility could be a Huss Flic Flac like Dragen at Tivoli. Apparently it's a lot of fun and it certainly looks it from the videos on Youtube. I doubt there will be a new ride for X-Sector next year (unless they have been working on something secret that doesn't require planning permission because of the tent) but perhaps in a year or two. I suppose there wouldn't be any reason why they couldn't get 2 new rides for 2013 and really go all out. Tussauds used to open two new rides so there's no reason why Merlin can't either. Especially seen as they've removed more rides than they've actually installed.

'Nemesis: What Lies Beneath?' is a working title and not necessarily the final name.

Oh, and...

Alton seem to be in the marketing mode this year and may I just say I love it.

I think that this new website is perfect for introducing the new rides theme to its audience and the whole atmosphere is great.

I must say well done Alton

^^ Nice thanks for the link Nathan.

Loving that the link I posted earlier to a video is the one they have used in the archive section.. seems.. SEEMS! like they are taking the theme seriously .... (fingers crossed)

I wonder if they had different options ready (or in the pipeline) depending on the winner of the competition..

Very military orientated so far on the opening screen.

Great Link!! Looks good :D And I do love the slowed down Nemesis music :) I guess they can use it for the new ride too... I hadn't really thought of that... But I guess the Music is quite an important part, especially in a dark ride, it sets the mood.... I mean, imagine Duel without the music... I know that I personally probably wouldn't go on it more than once!

So, we uncovered something and something has gone wrong. You need to go and see.
I wonder if they found the catacombs during "routine maintenance"? :P

That video. <3

When the Nemesis music came in, so did I. :D

Even if the story is finding the team, which is frankly embarrasing, that video just made my night.

I'm sure I posted this earlier on, but I must be going bananas!!! Am glad about this theme as it reaffirms that Nemmie is not planning on going anytime soon. You just never know when a ride is approaching nearly 20 what they are going to do! It will be great to see what sort of continuity of theming they use in and around the ride relating to Nemesis. Although I am underwhelmed by the ride itself, I am looking forward to seeing the theming.

The text at the beginning is the key. We must decipher the text. It will have hidden clues in it somewhere. This is currently TTF's #1 priority:

[quote=""Nemesis: What Lies Within?""]URGENT COMMUNICATION ####

What does "DoAV ALPHA" mean? What does NEMESIS OMEGA ONE mean? What is the significance of 0703?
