What's The Best Flat Ride For Alton In The Future?

I was thinking of the possibility that with SW6 coming soon and maybe the possibility of a new area, What would you say would be the best flat ride for Alton Towers bearing in mind the height law and the space needed for that particular flat ride?
Alba gu brath! Scotland Forever!
Top Scan's are great, but the capacity is dire. Thorpe's gets a queue of 60 minutes quite often, which is far too much a queue for a flat ride.
Something with a higher capacity I feel.

Yeah rides like Maelstrom is the type of ride I like and it would be a good asset to the park, but would it go above the tree height. If I remember there was a topic on that same kind of ride not that far back that gave the idea of putting that kind of ride in the place where Blade is cause it could swing into the ground and stay well hidden. That would be a great ride making you look like you are going to hit the ground as u swing round.

That would be the perfect position for a Maelstrom ride. Problem is the queue length would be too big for the blades little area :P
But i have said for a couple of years now that Alton Towers miss a Maelstrom

There are, however, no guarantees that Alton Towers will get another flat ride. Truth be told, most major parks do not have flat rides in any great number!
We can always hope though
Flat rides often give just as many thrills as some of the rollercoasters.
In my opinion anyway :P

I know that the throughput's not great but I'd like to see some Robo Arms added in 2011 to complete the area that is currently Ug Land. They're different to other flats and would undoubtedly be popular, the only problem is that there would need to be a lot of them to ensure that throughput is reasonable.

There's a good reason why the park has little flat rides - they're nothing much. Sure, there's cheap thrills, but they're a bit pointless, you see what you get, and there's no experience - something AT tries to create.
Head on down to Thorpe the fairground if your looking for a good 10 mins spilling over a sink with a headache to boot.
Bu, yes, would be nice to see Alton with a few more decent flats.
I think Robo-arms are a must for the start of next decade though.

^ That post seems a little contradictorary...
I like different flats. Submission is one I've not encountered anywhere else, and RoboArms would surely be a UK exclusive. Thrilling flats can be used as a stepping stone and a 'cheap thrill' to break up the day and absorb the shocking queues. If increased gate figures are gunna happen, then flats (I feel) are a must!

Completely agree.
But i feel blade maybe getting to old and would need a lot of themeing and there is not enough space in FV fot a large swinging ride like maelstrom.
As for Robo Arms i don't like them at all. pointless. they just chuck you around and spin you. Sounds like a vomit machine.

Maybe a scaled down ride, but still get a gyro swing!

I know hieght would be an issue unless the dug a trench but possibly a Sky Swat would be a good addition. Maybe the reliability would be better at Alton than Thorpe. Good ride tho.

What about a Moser Speed Flip in FV Inplace of the climbing wall where Dynamo was that would make a great ride!
