In an interview i read a while ago the park said they dont plan on adding any dark rides anytime soon as being so close to Disney and Universal the ride would just be compared by vistors to the ones at Disney and Universal and they obviously dont have anywhere near the budget Disney and Universal have. Very few american parks outside Disney and Universal seem to add dark rides.
Cheese

The X-Flight video is a fantastic demonstration of the ride system, and the movement of the actually rather nice looking train through the track elements is utterly mesmerising. However, that's not enough to overcome the fact that Six Flags make Merlin look like an incredibly imaginitive operation. Consider the almost total lack of theme, the dive through the undisguised tin shed and the incredibly original name. Still, at least it's not named after a DC Comics character with little to no link to the ride whatsoever!

That launch track looks far too short to get the train up to that height, when you consider that stretch of track also includes the brakes and the station...

Thats the thing... it is too short! It goes back and forth till it gains enough momentum. :|
towers freak

Don't see the point of relocating a 20 year old ride like Iron Wolf especialy as it a B&M stand up, a ride model that is out of date and dead in the water. I would think it would cost more to take it down, install footers in its new loacaton and errect it than they would get back. I guess thats just typical of Six Flags.

Wow!

Video for the drop tower there.

Tallest fastest drop tower in the world, 85mph! Though isn't the Freefall coaster in Australia with the drop tower on the side the exact same height?

Seems to be a Six Flags habit to do this. I rode Iron Wolf in 2006 and it is rough as hell! But it's a fairly compact layout, on flat ground so shouldn't be too difficult / costly to relocate.

Six Flags used to run what was called the Ride Rotation Program, where they'd basically do a LOT of relocating old coasters to different parks and advertising them as "new". Deja Vu at Magic Mountain is also becoming Goliath at New England, so it appears this program is back in full force, which is a shame. Deja Vu is a piece of crap though.

Ahh yes you're exactly right there, when standing at Goliath's entrance you can see how much further down the tower goes than the track!

Yeah, the wingrider looks ace. That Superman ride on the other hand looks like a potential stalling nightmare.

While the wingrider look like a good ride from what I've read it's the scenery that makes or breaks these and being Six Flags the whole package could end up a bit crap. I didn't realise the Superman ride was more of a dodgy full circuit half pipe thing and I for one can't see it working very well. Moving a stand-up seems to be an odd choice given the type is pretty much dead. Adding the drop tower is actually a stroke of genius. It will be a huge drop and offer some great interaction with the cars of the coaster and I'm surprised they never did it in the first place.

I actually think the odd Abismo-style thing looks rather interesting.

I'd go more with a capacity/through-put nightmare.

Nope, this is a couple of metres shorter. :)

One thing that is clearly visible from the pictures is the way that while Swarm inverts fully before dropping, X-Flight just enters very heavy banking without doing a full 180-degree roll, which in my opinion makes the whole thing lack impact, they may as well have gone for the full roll or a curving drop, as opposed to this halfway house.
