I think they should be practicing their sign reading skills first :lol
Life is a roller coaster. You can either scream every time you hit a bump or you can throw your hands up in the air and enjoy it.

They were disappointed

Not at a theme park, but just in the taxi from the airport after a trip to PA, and the taxi driver said "Did you know Dragon Khan was once the biggest rollercoaster in the world?!"

Not exactly true :/
Ride count since the beginning of 2015: 2632!
Ride count 2021: 416!

Today, talking with some friends at school and one of them asks me if I've been on Thirteen and Rita.
I reply I've been in Thirteen, but not Rita.
She replies that it is a really good ride and that "Rita: Queen of Speed is the second fastest rollercoaster in the world"
I reply "really?" in a slightly surprised tone
She nods her head as if she knows what she is talking about...

I couldn't stop smiling after that!

I can see where the confusion comes from though. When it opened, it broke two world records, with its largest vertical loop record being most likely to confuse the driver.

On a Thorpe trip last week, a friend of mine who I've been desperately trying to turn into an enthusiast was talking about their Alton Towers trip when they said "and then we took the monorail thing from the Peppa Pig Land to Nemesis". ](*,)  SO MANY THINGS WRONG. My conversion efforts are failing!

Person one: "what's Hex like?"
Person two: "well, do you like pirates?"

Interesting...

I've sat next to some ... interesting ... people lately thanks to Dragon's Fury Single Rider. My favourite from the past few weeks was when we were stacking really badly on the brake run, at least three cars from the station, facing backwards. Next car finishes the circuit and hits the brake run just ahead. Guy in front of me says:

"Imagine if it hadn't stopped and just went smashing into our car, that would be well funny!"

... No it wouldn't?

Not at a park, but in a car, my friend said: "All my cousins went on Galactica at Disneyland."

When I was at Scarefest, I went on the skyride. There was a woman who looked at SW8s construction site and then turned to her child and said "Oh look, that must be the new scare maze!"
Afterwards the child complained how scary and high up the next section of the skyride looked
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move

My friend once asked: "Has anyone ever got lost in the maze bit at nemesis sub-terrain?" ](*,)

"Thor dropped his hammer."

Many years ago, when Air was still Air, I was in the queue line when the ride broke down. We were all incredibly curious what was going on, so we asked an employee. There was this group of people who had dressed up as superheroes (in the middle of summer) and one of them was dressed as Thor and snuck a fake hammer for their ride pic but dropped it on the lift hill and caused the entire ride to shut down.

Wasnt so much as what i overheard, but i was talking to a canadian couple while queuing for the rock n roller coaster in Florida and there daughter said to the dad "why does it say starring Aerosmith? the dad said they are a famous rock band that come from Boston! and its based on them getting you to one of there shows! her reply.... Never heard of them should be called rock n roller coaster starring Justin Bieber.
As a lover of rock music i felt like booting her across the park, but i think that would be slightly frowned upon as she cant of been older then 10, so i shook my head in shame and told her dad to educate her!!!

Today, in the Oblivion shop

Boy 1: “That was awesome! I love when it hangs!”
Boy 2: “Yeah, did you know it hangs for 5 seconds?”

We were hanging on the top of the drop for a second at most....
