Also Twin Lakes, I believe! Along with the Wagon Wheel whatsits? Pretty sure I saw them in a brochure not long back...

Had a text from Kaycee and Magrathea while I was on holiday to say that The Runaway Mine Train (now travelling with Mellors) was actually at Funderworld! Nice to see it out and about :-).

I don't know who's Flickr acount this is, but it's a pretty amazing one. They've uploaded loads of images of old American Adventure leaflets, etc...

Here's for anyone that's interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trainsands ... 992548855/

If you scroll back you'll also see a many more old leaflets and posters from other famous parks from across the globe, as well as some old Arrow Dynamics documents too.

Anyway, I enjoyed scrolling through all of the pictures and thought I'd share the account here too and let everyone else enjoy them too. :)

Here are a few smaller versions:

Edit: There's also some Alton Towersstuff too, as well as an index for all of the theme park albums too! :D

I think it was the Motion Master show for a period, but I'm not 100% certain on that. I dare say someone will put me right on it :P

Hello everyone

I am wanting to find any items for sale from the now sadly closed American Adventure theme park.
Any souvenirs or memorabilia, signs, pictures, models, soft toys etc etc, even paper cups and bags.

If anyone thinks they may have something which may be of interest please would you take the time to contact me and see what we can do price wise?

Cheers

Stuff comes up on ebay occasionally. The market seems to have consolidated somewhat over the last couple of years.

Hi,

Cheers for the reply, I know I keep checking ebay and have bought a couple of bits and peices but you are right not alot becomes available anymore - my girlfriend did manage to get me one of the logs from the flume ride at American Adventure for my brithday which I was really happy with.

I just managed to get a copy of the auction catalogue and hammer prices the other day and cant believe the low prices which some of the items went for - wonder where they all are now?

Anyway if you know anyone who has anything or come accross anything yourself please let me know.

Cheers
Adam

I have often thought there should be a site like eBay that allows you to request items, as I would love some too

I thought I would update, after popping round this week the Pier 49 has been demolished, which means there is absolutely nothing left of the theme park bar the footers

So sad. Wonder what they will build on it.

The themeing in this park looked awesome - the/a magic was definitely there.

Oh, could be the Test cart - I had always wondered why that one was different.

My hunch was that they once spelt out:

I heard vandals set the pier 49 a light. After the fire was put out it was unsafe so they pu
lled it down.

Housing? Well that's not good. I thought that when the AA applied for holiday lodges they were rejected and this subsequently continued to building any form of housing on the site?
