Busch Gardens Williamsburg have requested a height waiver for a new roller coaster... A very big rollercoaster...
The documents filed suggest the highest point of the attraction will surpass Kings Doninion's I305 making it Busch Gardens first giga coaster!
This will be decided on next week.

This would presumably be for 2019? Wow, that's some serious coaster investment going into that park.
I wonder which manufacturer would be used. Given that there's an Intamin Giga just down the road, could be be seeing another B&M Giga? Or will another manufacturer throw their hat into the giga coaster ring? Very exciting times ahead if this is granted.
Oh, and we'll have one in Tampa as well please! :P

Manufacturers that SeaWorld work with that could produce a giga coaster:
B&M
Intamin
Mack
Premier rides (unlikely)

The attraction has been approved! Currently the attraction is under the name "Madrid" and is anticipated to be a Giga coaster or a Sky Jump drop tower (Falcon's Fury)!

A few updates since the last BGW post in 2017,
-Curse of DarKastle has closed forever
-Battle for Eire, VR simulator dark ride, opened in 2018
-Finnegan's Flyer, S&S Screamin Swing, opened in 2019
The park have today teased their 2020 Intamin multi launch coaster:
The park have also submitted a height waiver for a 2021 project of over 300ft in height, widely expected to be some sort of starflyer flat ride, although a coaster is not impossible.

Yesterday the park announced Pantheon. It will be America's fastet multi launch coaster and reach speeds of 72 mph. It will contain a 95 degree drop and have forward and backward bits.
