This is a joke! £10 a go for a ride! lol
Just been told Coaster was £5 not £10 so meh
It's a psychological trick. The ride is 5 tokens per go, however each token costs £2. Therefore £2 per token x 5 tokens = £10 per ride.
And the €urocoaster doesnt invert...
The cars hang beneath the track rather than sitting on top of it and there is no floor to the cars. That's why it's an Inverted coaster. The number of inversions or lack thereof has nothing to do with it.

So its a "Suspended Rollercoaster" then. If it was a invert then it would have inversions surely.

I think you're getting confused between "Inverted" and "Inverting". An "Inverting" coaster is one which goes upside down. An "Inverted" coaster is one where the trains hang beneath the track. I realise there is the Vekoma "Suspended Looping Coaster", but isn't this essentially the same concept as the B&M Inverters?

In any case, £10 a go seems extortionate for such a small ride. Maybe if it was Eurostar I'd be willing to pay that much, but for this Wild Mouse? Can it really be worth the money?

Damn, I wouldn't care if it was a Suspended Inverting Frictionless Super Looping Flying Miracle Machine, £10 for ONE go is just a rip-off, plain and simple.

Though *perhaps* if you live in London and not the cheapo back of beyond like I do, £10 a pop is easier/more normal to say goodbye to...? :?

Not in this climate it isn't. Londoners don't like being ripped off too! It's the Londoners that rip off the tourists ;)

Well...I live on the edge of London and £10 is too much for me! Then again I'm a poor graduate, so... :P

 Fair enough, it's not somewhere I've been for several years now, but going there tomorrow to drop off a piano for repairs... will try not to spend too much...

It sounds like daylight robbery and I am now seriously contemplating bothering at all. Fundamentally, although the rides are good for a funfair, I am not sure I can justify spending £5-£10 for a coaster which is basically very average when I can go to a theme park such as Phantasialand, pay £20 and have a full day on world class rides and attractions just a couple of weeks later.

So is it really £10 to ride a fairground coaster? £10! That is ludicrous.
I've been really looking forward to visiting this year and I feel a tad disappointed now.
I will still probably head down there at some point as it is not far, but I can't imagine riding much at those prices. Sigh.

Without getting into a argument #-o Isnt it the same thing?! "Inverted/Inverting" is a coaster than "Inverts".

This doesnt "Invert" it is "Suspended"

Let me clear this up:-

Invert: any coaster that runs below the track. All suspended's are inverts, but not all inverts are suspended. (e.g. Nemmy, Vampire)

Inverting: Any coaster that goes upside down, whether it runs below the rails or on top. (e.g. Nemmy)

Suspended: A coaster which hangs below the track, and can swing freely from side to side (e.g. Vampire)

Glad we got that sorted out, was trying to post something similar but couldn't quite word it right.

Back on topic, those prices are insane. £10 for a medium sized coaster?! I think PBB once charged £9 for PMBO (more recently it was £7), but they were inflated prices to try to flog the wristbands, and PMBO is at least a really big ride.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. :)

*hears the sound of loose change in nickn5's pocket*

Would you mind confirming the prices when you get back? The "Christmas coaster" (Euro Coaster) is behind the bandstand with bright green supports, next to Power Tower 2 and the Black Hole. Also, there's the fair at the O2 Arena (nearest station: North Greenwich). Apparently there's quite a few rides although yesterday all I could find outside was a "Twister" ride, which looked like a drop tower crossed with a chair-swing, and a shut-up Waltzer. :|

Ooops! Oh well, next time I'm there then! :)

Hyde Park and the 02 are quite a few miles apart! No-one goes near Greenwich unless they have to! :P

I must say I'm shocked by those prices. Even for a Londoner they are a rip off.

In all fairness the event really isn't for coaster enthusiasts, just travelling ride fans, don't expect to ride some fantastic coaster at a fair event, unless of course it was Olympia Looping attending, then you'd want to pay £5 - £10 for a go.. maybe not, who knows.

Let's say you go to Alton Towers, you get 9 rides in your day and it costs you £35 to get in. £35/9 rides = £3.88 per ride. Nemesis alone deserves more than that! Then you go to Hyde Park and see a slow-moving medium-sized travelling coaster and the asking price is £10. You're going to stand there and wonder why it costs so much and how on earth it could possibly deliver an experience worthy of that amount of money.

It's not the quality of the rides at Hyde Park that is the problem, but the potential ratio of bang to buck.

I may pop along on Thursday if I get out of work early.
