Universal Studios Japan
It looks so amazing! The theming and the music is extravagant, especially with the pretty colours and all. I really want to visit USJ just to ride this!
Those cars look incredible, but do look huge. Still, that POV is incredible, what an amazing theme, put's most if not all indoor coasters to shame, and most of the themed ones
Another video showing a bit more of the queueline and the ride itself a little too:

In terms of RIDE technology Th13teen is more advanced, this is just a mack spinning coaster not that technical really. It's the theming that makes it more than it is.

Are we talking about Space Fantasy here or Th13teen?
It strikes me that comment is applicable to both!.

What a ride! Maybe one of these (obviously smaller and themed accordingly) in the Black Hole tent? I'm sure Merlin can reach that quality of themeing and thrillness! (13 a prime example).
Did that space use to hold E.T?
Also does anyone know who composed the music?
Those cars really do look they came from outer space, they are simply stunning.

A Mack free-spinner? I hope it's not as forceless, boring and sick-inducing as the only other one in the world, Sierra Sidewinder. Did I mention painfully slow loading?
Slow loading it should not be. Euro Mir can cater for up to 1,600 people per hour and dispatch a train every 36 seconds.

...without checking restraints, with no disrespect to Europa (this is how it should be). But I think it's the exception rather than the rule. Sierra loading was absolutely torturous.

This is Knott's though, they aren't exactly amazing at making your day... pleasant. :P I'd expect in most other parks the loading is fairly reasonable. In Universal, I imagine they have no problem with loading.
Anyway, this ride looks absolutely fantastic. The theming and special effects look far superior to any other indoor roller coaster I have come across. After quite enjoying the tame, yet fun Sierra Sidewinder and this looks like a far more exciting and thrilling layout. I expect the actual coaster aspect of the ride is very good as well. Looks incredibly immersive though, definitely on my 'must ride' list.
Universal never fail to impress me.

Well... Anybody surprised by this step by Universal Studios? :P It seems Hollywood's will have theirs done around the same time too.Mugglenet wrote:James and Oliver Phelps - the twins who played Fred and George Weasley in all of the Harry Potter films - were in Japan today to officially announce the construction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Osaka, Japan.
The Osaka destination will begin construction in the next few weeks and will cost an estimated $500 million. The park will be opening in 2014 and feature many of of same attractions that are currently found in the original Wizarding World at Universal Studios Orlando such as Hogwarts Castle, the Forbidden Journey ride, and many more attractions.
Japan is Harry Potter's largest market outside of the United States, so it will be a terrific addition to this deserving fandom.
Why can't they build one here?
I heard rumours about this, and know we know that it is true, I will be following construction closely, considering it combines two of my favourite things! :P
It seems like this is the Six Flags of Universal now, albeit a better themed one!
I'm also guessing that they'll have some sort of rollercoaster to go with this, which will be different to Dragon Challenge at Florida as that was a re-themed ride. I'm guessing on another coaster with inversions so the thrill market is satisfied, and for all we know, it could be a B&M Inverted coaster!

It really, REALLY frustrates me that Universal seem intent on shunning Europe.
