I'm on a roll today! This looks to be Cedar Point's new ride for 2007. Definately Intamin track but I'm not sure what kind of coaster. Could we be looking at another record breaker? If so, I would think it would be inversions

Another potential clue around the construction site-
"Ya'll up for some serious sidewindin'?"
Is there such a thing as an Intamin sidewinder?

I have a suspicion its going to be an Aqua Trax, seeing as the ride is replacing White Water Landing their previous log flume. I doubt it will be as heavily themed as the only other Aqua Trax, Atlantis Adventure.

Notice the track that has arrived is trainagular section as with the Aqua Trax (TTD is box section so no extension) and they already have an Intamin Giga Coaster so i very much doubt they are going for the 500ft mark. Don't know how this will fit in with Sidewiding and Maverick though!

Sounds cheesy and I know Paramount allready have Top Gun themed attractions.

But Maverick and Sidewinder (missles) may be a connection.

Probabaly totally off the mark though ;)

EDIT TO ADD: Crazy! I can't believe that my prediction may actually be true! Now that cedar fair own paramount my Maverick Top Gun idea is a big possibility.

More pictures can be found on http://www.pointbuzz.com/gallery.aspx?i=4023 some of the track has twists in it this could mean inversions or vertical twists one of the supports remind me of the ones used to support ritas bank turns

New construction photos- absolutely tons of footers

 OMG now that is allot of footers and from what they are joking about they might know something seeing as they popped Aqua and Trax in the same sentence lol. Id love them to get an Aqua Trax as they look amazing (when themed well). Looks like its going to be another great closed season to be watching Cedar Point :D

Sounds like a sort of updated version of Powder Keg with inversions. I wonderif this is where they could have gotten their inspiration from (presuming it is this kind of ride). I wouldn't think that it would be this because no launch or lift track has arrived on site. I would opt for the Aqua Trax idea but I still wonder why they need just that many footers

If you scroll down you can see parts that definately appear to be launch track so we could have a rocket coaster on the cards

Could it be a Launched racing coaster? :?
Williscroft

Looks very interesting what ever it is. Im just thinking why the park would install another launch coaster unless it had something very different and special about it.

Anyway im sure we will find out soon enough what beast Cedar Point is bringing to the park in 2007.

Ow and for anyone that wants to watch the construction there is now a web cam installed on park http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm

:D
Nick

Looks like there is some track on the supports now in the background of the webcam image

This would explain those footers which run parallel. I like this idea and I think it would add a whole new dimention to rocket coasters particuarly if it was racing themed

Im sure it has got to be some sort of launched coaster. From looking at all of the images/webcam's etc, there are NO high supports for a lifthill of any sort.
