well neither does Oblivions! The drop angle on Oblivion is about 3 degrees off of verticle!
What a fad.

Well the first vertical drop looks like theres not going to be much of the vertical track befor it starts to curve round and the sencond vertical drop looks even less vertical the oblivions to me. Still its going to be an amazing coaster when finished but the drops just dont look as vertical as i thought they would be.

http://www.rcdb.com/quicksearch.htm?quicksearch=sheikra the smaller drop is 90 degrees, more the Oblivions!
What a fad.

It does look a very god ride, cant wait to ride it!!!!! :D I th9ink the first drop will be very good, although for some reason, i dont think it will compare to Oblivions, even though it will seem alot taller. :?

Just been looking at some more pictures of the ride and there is very little vertical on the first drop:

I think this ride looks amazing and can't wait to ride it in December. Althought the drop may not look as steep as Oblivions I am sure it will be a great ride. After all there are 2 drops a loop and a water section plus the ride looks to be a good length.

I've heard it's not to be called SheiKra anymore, but actually 'Dive Machine'. Or is that just the Project name? :-?

i Just noticed the trains have 3 rows, compared to 2 on oblivion :P

anyway, looks amazing, but not as scary as oblivion, i guess the going straight into the tunnel on oblivion gives more of an effect..

Thing is, it definitely looks more of a ride experience. :( And look at that inversion - a diving loop? And there was me thinking those cars could just perform vertical loops.

Would we rather have this, or Oblivion? This one doesn't focus on the apocalyptic, 'oblivion' theme, but I suppose that was only truly appropriate on the prototype. But that's what makes Oblivion so scary. This ride TBH doesn't make a huge deal out of the vertical drop and it looks just like any normal feature of a ride after the top hat coasters, X with its vertical drop, the 97degree coasters like the one Oakwood is getting...this could just be any old coaster with different cars!

EDIT: ignore my above post, I've since found out that 'Dive Machine' is actually the project name d'urh

 :P

I think the ride will be great and im loving the splash zone part. I wont get to ride it for years though as i dont go on holiday. The thing is when you look at Oblivion theres quite alot of track thats vertical were as on Sheikra theres only a very small bit thats vertical before it starts to curve round. Owell should still be an amazing ride. ( it will never beet good old Oblivion though in my eyes :D )
