Today, Wodan opened for the public on "Migros-Day"...kinda soft-opening for a special event.

First riders were raving about the speed and the theming...we (Orici, Steffen and me) were there, but (unfortunately) not part of the event.

Orici and me both think that Wodan picked up some speed during the daytime...and in the late afternoon Wodan looked almost as fast as it did during those first test runs.

We don`t want to give away too much details...but the theming is really elaborated  :D

Guys...I think we all have something to look forward to (thinking about Woodie Sosche...) !

I also want to say that Wodan looked very fast yesterday.
It has maybe not the speed it has had two weeks ago during the first test rides, but the people on the train were screaming and shouting and it seemed that they all had fun.

Thank for DragonMarty for posting my video from youtube.
A would add, that GeorgeT and I saw some pictures of the stations inside ans some theming parts of the waiting area ... and (without spoiling) the theming of Wodan is really fantastic. Watching the pictures on a small Iphone display created a little puddle of drool at my feet.  =P~
Maybe this would be the best themend wooden coaster of the world.
I don't want to go into detail, because you should have a surprised moment when you see Wodan next week. But when I saw the pictures of the theming, I just was ...

I think it'll win that easily! I can't really think of any substantially themed woodies in the world, except Zeus.

So...time to go ahead

First of all...here`s a POV (the only one until now):

If you put the first rider reviews together...people mostly agree that Wodan has a great sense of speed...yes, there are a few spots of airtime already...although Wodan hasn`t reached it`s final speed yet.

People seemed to have LOADS of fun on it...and though the theming is not finished yet...it really looks as if Europa Park outdone themselves...what`s there already looks really amazing  :D

Just look at those photos (Sources are Ep Fans.ch (Thanks Marco) & EP Board.de :

EDIT : I guess what you guys should really know is that Wodan doesn`t feel nor does it sound like a "typical" Woodie. There is just a little roar...but it`s absolutely NOT loud compared to other woodies...and it rides very smooth. Although you will not be able to compare the layouts...you guys should expect something you might know from an intamin prefab !!!

I guess you CAN expect a very fast and fun coaster including nice amounts of airtime...but you CANNOT expect a typical woodie ride-feeling  ;)

Greeds...GeorgeT

Gosh.

The theming looks remarkable - even by EP standards. I presume there are no images from the indoor queue line sections yet?

Dan...I would love to show...but those would`t be "official", because the inner queue is still work in progress !

(The inside part of the queue wasn`t open to the public during the Migros event. But what I have seen is without any doubt on a VERY high level of creativity !

You will NOT be dissapointed !

Honestly...Speed, Airtime, Theming...everything is there...JUST not that typical woodie rattle and sound !

Why oh why don`t EP and Alton incorporate ?

I mean...this clearly is a sign...while alton is presenting an egg this year...Europa Park delivers the hourglass AND the cook...unite I say...unite !

Well...this is interesting !

I thought when posting the last set of photos, infos and the onride, that there would be alot more positive reactions.

At least in the german and suisse forums people were reacting very enthusiastic seeing that stuff.

And here...so little reactions ?

(And no post for MANY days in the Woodie Sosche thread  :?)

I don`t know...Woodie Sosche is coming VERY soon...and I had the impression that the people here tend to Hype Europa.

So...are you guys too frustrated because of Nemmie S.T. ?

Sorry, I don`t want to criticise at all, really NOT...I just don`t get it how one could look at those pictures and stuff without commenting  ;)
