AHHHHHHHHHHH i need help, just trying to book flights with ryan air and its asking about how many bags and stuff, only going for a few days, does this include carry on luggage? any help with flight booking would be much appreciated

And travel insurance for £6 a person, i need that too?

They have a new bags policy, i think! I haven't yet experienced it, but i think you now pay per bag (as they have apparantly reduced the flight charges). I don't think you pay for hand-luggage, but i'd ring and check with them.

You need travel insurance yes for the duration of your break.

Also: Don't forget to ring the bus company in advance to tell them you need to be taken to Europa Park (as it is a request stop!). Not sure if they have an email address if you aren't so hot on the German.

I have booked a rent car for £20 a day, seems like a bargain to me and i dont need to worry about bus times and its faster etc.

Thanks for the advice we are just going to take hand luggage as its only a couple of days.

I booked the hotel online on Europa's site, the booking part is only in German but i worked it out :D

All set a really looking forward to it :D

The Collosseo which looks great but it all looks so good, certainly atleast in pictures it puts the Alton Towers hotels too shame and its certainly no more expensive, cant wait to find out for real. I will have to take a few pictures for once, i always forget when i go places.

Your not Astrodancer sponsored by Europa Park by any chance :D

Someone should show the pictures to Alton so they can see how Theming should really be done if they want to be UK's number one!

Well, go on then! Send them an email and tell them that whilst we may have the coasters, some of the theming leaves a little to be desired. You could play the innocent fool? 'Helo, i went to a theme park in Germany and it looked better than yours!'.

Incidentally, you guys should all know that the folks at eprust forums are just as jealous of AT's coasters and beauty as many of us are about Europa's themes.

Its the Grass is always greener type of thing I suppose.

Its sounds like Europa have some very unique and impressive coasters down there not that AT has not but we are more used to visiting there, Europa will be brand new experience to me woohooooo :D

One thing i'm looking forward to is the dark Coaster, i was a big fan of Black Hole and i actually like X:no way out, this hopefully is a goodun.

Eurosat: It's great. A bit rough in places, but it is the most relentless thing i have ever been on! It is crazy, fast, dark, and well - seriously cool! It beats X:/ by. well a country mile. The music creates a great atmosphere, and the queue is always under 20 minutes as the capacity is mega.

I am going to write a full review for Eurosat in the Rollercoasters thread tomorrow.

I use that Review site lots and they are very good and generally not biased so that ride must be good.

Pegasus news update 19th May 2006

According to numerous sources, Pegasus' opening has been put back to the 3rd June. Whilst this is not a confirmed piece of information, the source is fairly reliable. RCDB maintain that it will open on Tuesday, but it is thought this is inaccurate.

The theming continues to develop, with a small temple passage being built for the course, numerous plants and trees, archeological objects and a rustic style station all continue to grow.

Apologies for a double post! But here we have some very important information!

Europa Park's official home page has announced Pegasus WILL open on May 25th! Go to www.europapark.de and have a look. The site has music and a cool announcement to tell you about the new coaster!

6 days to go.

Also, for anyone going to Europa Park in July, the park will be opening its doors until Midnight on the 22nd July! This gives you the chance to ride the likes of Silver Star, EuroMir and Poseidon in the middle of the night!

For anyone interested, the Champions League Football opening ceremony was choreographed by one Europa Park's entertainment managers.

Well here comes my 5th rollercoaster review on Europa Park following my reviews on Euro Mir, Poseidon, Silver Star and Matterhorn Blitz.

EUROSAT

Europa Park is home to two space-themed coasters. Bizzarely, whilst we all know Russia's space credentials (Euro-Mir) we are perhaps more surprised to learn of France's. Eurosat is housed in the iconic Europa Park orb, which resembles the Epcot dome and has been on the park since 1989 making it the parks 3rd oldest coaster.

When you approach the rides entrance, you notice the blue neon EUROSAT writing across the entrance. You join the short queue which is never very long due to Eurosat's immense capacity. Once you reach the end of the main queue, you go through a barrier before being taken up an escalator, passing some spacemen and equipment on your left. As you reach the top, you bear left and travel down a space walkway with planets and stars in the windows. You arrive at the small, cramped station and are in one of the trains within 5 minutes.

As you sit down, you take one last look around you. The staff are all in Eurosat themed outfits, and the station resembles a 1970's space station! The train departs with alarming haste (capacity is the golden key at EP), bears round to the right and stops. You hear a voice play overhead, warning you about what is to take place. After a 10 second pause, the train meanders its way round a couple of short bends before engaging the spiral lift hill. The fabulous Eurosat dance soundtrack plays as you begin to rise, and rise, and rise for what seems like an eternity. Then you think - how high am I here? Well, you are 85' high. So, higher than Corkscrew in this small, rickety train! When you reach the top, some lasers flash past, and a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 announcement tells you that you are about to GO. fast. One quick look at where you are going - you see only stars ahead.

WOOSH! The train hurtles with incredible urgency down a sharp banked drop to the right and you hold on for dear life. As you begin to adapt to the speed, the train then veers rapidly in the opposite direction, throwing you about the carriage! You continue at speed round numerous high speed curves. This is one exhilarating dark coaster.

Suddenly, the train slows slightly in the mid course breaks. The train then violently sends you left, then right, plunging down towards a load of meteors which you pass. As the train continues its wild journey, you travel past some lasers and some more meteors and rocks! The immense pace doesn't let up and you travel through a tunnel of lights, before hurtling round some more corners at mega speeds, and arriving in some Black-Hole style violent brakes. A screeching noise plays through the rides soundtrack as you make your way into the station.

Just as you get out of the car, it has left again with another load of eager trippers. You collect your thoughts and consider whether to have another go!

So. Eurosat. The phenomenal pace of this rollercoaster makes it one of the most relentless rides I have ever been on. It doesn't let up - sometimes it almost violently thrashes about the course.The theming is superb and it is also good value on any queue's as it lasts 4 minutes. At peak times, a phenomenal 7 trains are going round at any one time! The ride is amazing! Relentless is the word - it is fast and frankly, insane! If every you get to EP, make sure you check out this brilliant rollercoaster for yourself. It puts X:/ to shame!

wow it looks like an incredible but yet simple ride. Something Alton Towers could think about when redeveloping the BH tent. It would be a shame not to put a new dark coaster in there. But i feel there is not enough room to make something of the upmost standard and it should be perhaps used for a good flat and a new dark coaster put somewhere else on park. Fitting with the "Experience" feel of things.

Looks likea great ride though. It seems as though it could last a while to. Again more quality theming i see! Alton take note!

I think we can compare this to Black Hole. The theming quality of the two rides is/was comparable - although I think the exterior of EuroSat is better than Black Hole's was. As i said, the theming is 70's space-style - so it looks dated, on purpose if you get me!

The ride itself is more erratic than Black Hole - and lasts longer (well, it is double the height of Black Hole).

Something like this at AT would be great: 1,600 per hour!

Well, i guess that's kind of the point, bit of cheap promo for the park :) , being a EP fan i'm hopeful that as many people as possible will be able to experience this great park!

i'm hoping for 2 things on my visit, hot weather and incredibly well themed wet rides, looks like it should not dissapoint.

Still really cant wait, its going to be a slow month until i go.

Ahhh. *Thinks back to June 2005*: 33 degrees, queuing for Poseidon, slapping on the waterproof sun lotion, Silver Star in the background, surrounded by Greek buildings.

Can it get much better?
