Which coaster burnt down? Think you're on about a different park Sandy!  :?

The location in question is definitely behind Whirlwind and the Dungeon of Doom dark ride - in an area used for an antiques fair every now and then. Unfortunately knowing the rate of developments at Camelot they're more likely to be preparing the foundations for a house as opposed to a new ride.

It was the castle facade for Tower of Terror, which became Loudon Castle's Twist and Shout.

I read that Tower of Terror was removed to make way for a Vekoma Invertigo. But Camelot was denied planning permission and instead built Gauntlet

A new ride at Camelot would be great. They could really do with something new! :)

I know camelot gets slated alot, but i actually love the place mainly for the jousting show and ridind knightmare. my idea of camelot would be for merlin entertainments to take over, and base it on BBCs merlin. As for camelot it does need a complete makeover.

Would Merlin really bother buying Camelot and re-branding the entire park under the BBC Merlin IP?
AstroDan

Camelot was atrocious today - the worst I can recall in recent years. Whirlwind was shut all day. It was really was desperate.

The show was obviously on as ever, but they seem to extend it out as long as possible now to keep people from the awful rides :P

The staff, to be fair, are pretty happy. God knows how!

Maybe they know there is a nice redundancy package on it's way?

Sorry I thought the coaster that was burned down was called Vemon a indoor coaster that was moved near the rack ride but was removed in 2005.

Whirlwind closed all day?

Small mercies I guess...

That park does have some potential, but it needs someone with actual cash to put into the park and not be too desperate for an instant return of the investment... It'd be a long term project for certain...

If Camelot closes and Knightmare goes somewhere else in the UK, I don't really care (if it went to LWV it'd be amazing!). If Camelot closes, and Knightmare goes abroad or to the scrapheap, it'll be a huge loss for UK enthusiasts.

On the other hand, probably the only company already in the UK which would have the money to make a difference...

I think as well SHOULD Camelot close, some park in Asia already has a down payment on Knightmare, so has first dibs on it...

Are you not getting confused with Knightmare's original home? I have to agree with Sam. It needs to go to Lightwater. At least they would do the best they could to give it some TLC and a repaint... even if it took a couple of seasons.

My Best bet is that Knightmare will go to LWV when Camelot closes. I reckon that Whirlwind will go to one of them Smaller parks or go to a Medium park (Like Paultons or Oakwood) and Become a Dark ride. The Latter probably won't happen, But I think it's a good idea.

Not true.

The park does not own the ride, it's leased off one of the big companies (like Bembom, but *not* Bembom!). It's possible the company in question is Asian, though.
