One thing I've just spotted after looking at the logo for a while is that what initially looks like a pattern in the bottom bar is in fact Roman numerals counting up to the number 12 and then back down again. Whilst I'm not sure if the countdown has any specific significance the counting up and then back down again could be a subtle reference to it being a boomerang coaster.

River Quest has been integrated into the Klugheim area with similar rock work and the like, as shown in these photos from Phantasialand Facebook.

Phantasialand have posted a series of photos on their Facebook page showing some amazing photos of Klugheim, Raik and Taron. If you look closely you can even see what seems to be the trains on the track for one of the coasters. The area looks absolutely stunning!

The park opened for the 2016 season on Saturday (19th March), giving people the first chance to see progress on Klugheim, Taron and Raik up close. Phantafriends.de managed to get a selection of photos, the key ones which I've included below. The photos show progress in the general area, including Raik's enclosed lift, as well as some of the first photos of the trains on the track. However, as yet, there is no opening date for the new area.
The park have also released a new blog post detailing how they have commissioned a leather specialist to help design parts of the uniform the staff will be wearing in the area and create leather belts, bags and other accessories which fit in with the overall look and feel of the new area. This is just another example of the incredible level of detail that is going into the new development.

New video is up of a surveyor carrying out their work. Trying to auto-translate in YouTube but it hasn't got a clue what is being said.

Here's some footage of Taron low-speed launch testing - although the most anticipated stage of testing is yet to come, it's still exciting to see some movement.

oooh, it's great to see some movement on the ride and hopefully a sign that testing will really start to pick up. I'm not that familiar with how launch coasters typical proceed during testing - is it usual for them to do low speed launches such as this first before doing full speed launch testing?

It seems as if Intamin is trying to steal Macks thunder with this, considering at first watching that video I forgot it was an Intamin and not a Mack :lol Promising to see movement, and as one of the top rides opening this year I am more excited than ever to see full testing

I'm honestly unsure, but the ride sure looks like it could have originally been planned for MACK then switched to Intamin. I think it's because of how blocky the trains are :lol It's still an amazing looking ride though. Best new ride of 2016? Who knows...

Just wow - I have no other words to describe this ride, it gets more incredible by the day! This really does look to be a very special ride. I so hope this is open in June when I visit the park.

There has been further testing on Taron today with Tobi on Phantafriends.de reporting that the train has now tested in the second part of the circuit meaning both launches have now been tested. There has also been further construction work in the area with steel building supports being lifted into the area, although it is not 100% lear what these will form. Below is the only image so far of this afternoon's test run.

Phantasialand have posted on their Magazin about the development and experience of Raik. The post also includes some images of its train and track, a couple of which are below. It does look like it's going to nicely complement Taron, with it also operating in the winter months.

The more I see what Phantasialand have done with the whole Klugheim area, the more I am wanting to face my fear of flying and visit this park. It really does look incredible.

I have to say that the train for Raik is just as impressive as the train for Taron, and the coaster looks to be a nice little addition to the area too.
Having a closer look at Raik's train, there appears to be alot of symbols used on there that have been referenced elsewhere. The front barrel feature on the train has Roman numerals embossed on it, the same Roman numerals which we've already seen used with Raik's logo. What's also quite interesting is the hourglass on the side of the barrel. Whilst it's not clear why these features have been used, both the hourglass and Roman numerals could be making some kind of reference to the passing of time.
The other prominent symbol on the train is a Triquetra. This is a symbol which has a number of different meanings depending on the context in which it has been used. Perhaps the most likely reference here is the Pagan uses of the symbol which has been seen to be used in early Germanic coins, and also runestones in Northern Europe. The Triquetra is also thought to have some resemblance to a symbol associated with Odin, the Norse god of war. Any of these references would make sense in terms of the overall theme of the area.

I would have thought the hour glass would have something do with going forward and backward in time, as the roller coaster will be going forward and then reverse backwards...

Testing has continued on Taron over the past few days with multiple test runs being carried out. Over on Phantafriends one of their members has posted a short, 2 minute video, of today's tests. The ride is looking more and more impressive with each update I see - the train looks to pick up some nice bursts of speed, and I expect travels a little faster through the valley sections that are currently hidden by the fence. From what I understand it can still go a little bit faster so it seems they are slowly building to full speed. The full video can be found here

It's quite common to slowly build up the speed with launched coasters tests, I'm not 100% sure why it's done but I have a feeling it's to do with getting systems working correctly, and to find the 'perfect' average speed.

Phantasialand's latest Magazin post explains the process of testing Taron, and features the following images and this video of the coaster testing.
