@fantasyislanduk: @Wrightyboy13 We refurbished the coaster last season and will be painting the ride throughout the winter period.
To say they refurbished it last year they didn't do a very good job... I don't get how it can still be so rough after a refurb. Yea its not gonna be perfect but it still shouldn't be as rough as what it is ](*,) :yikes: =;

When I took a ride on this coaster earlier on this year, it was hideously rough. Spectacular to watch, yes. But to ride it was just pain from start to finish. Millennium was far better (and ironically smoother!)

The whole ride needs some TLC though. The queue line and station to both Millennium and Odyssey are a disgrace and needs more than just a lick of paint to keep it looking fresh.

Erm, change of plan, I prefer The Smiler. Rita's rubbish. Should have thought of that...

I thought it would've been mentioned by now... But has no one else thought it's a strange choice in colour since the other major coaster there is already bright yellow?

I know this is a severe bump but it is relevant.

After falling into administration in August 2014, Fantasy Island has now been put up for sale.

Administrators Duff & Phelps stated in a letter to interested parties:
I advise that we have now begun the process of marketing the business for sale. Unfortunately, a likely time frame for the proposed sale cannot be provided at this time.

It should be noted that any licence agreement that is entered into with the companies will remain in force for the next year and will be accounted for as part of the transaction.

It has been announced today that Fantasy Island has been purchased by Mellors Group, who have an optimistic outlook for its future. A full press release is available here.

That's good news and I'll be interested to see what Mellors do as they have a great track record with their travelling funfairs so they'll be able to inject their experience into the park.

Great start to the season, the odyssey stalled during testing! :lol

What do you think has caused this? Maybe the new paint, maybe the heater that warms the wheels in the station, who knows?

Looks like they are going to remove the cars and obviously put them back on at the station or something.

According to TPW, they are getting a new ride this summer, plus there will be loads of improvements through a scheme for the next ten years, completed in phases

For those who don't know, I believe Liam is referring to this video (Fantasy Island is discussed from 6:39-7:44).

The video claims that there will be a new ride in the Easter period, but I'm yet to find any other sources of this information. It certainly seems as if they're preparing for a new ride with the relocation of multiple rides, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'm really glad that this park's back on its feet. It's home to some attractions that look fantastic and it would've been such a shame to see the park die. I look forward to hearing more about the park's upcoming developments.

Tpw have done a vlog from fantasy island recently, the vague announcement about a new attraction looked like it was chalked onto a wall.

I've only done millennium which, for a Vekoma, was smooth as silk, and prior to now I'd only heard good things about Odyssey. Always put into context as being the best slc, but it's something I still want to ride. Having ridden infusion things can surely only get better :S

Wrap some bubble wrap around your head and be thankful for the NHS when you ride the odyssey :lol
